WHAT IS THE BEST WAY TO MAKE FRIENDS ON THIS SITE?
Posts
Since I'm trying to make videogames I figure it's be a good idea to befriend others who are experienced or at least working on game making as well.
Interact in forum games, try to help out by playing others' games and giving feedback, engage in events and just chat with people in different areas of the forums.
You can also check out the IRC.

Post lots and don't be a dingleberry. I've got one of the two down which is why I don't have many friends here.
But Dinkledaberry's game was so cool .. !
Anyways, what Liberty said. Do something, people will recognize your name, you will become a somebody, you can then PM people when you feel like it and see what they are up to.
You can lurk in the irc as well, really easy way to get in contact with people.

I'd really like to get rid of LockeZ. His play style is way too unpredictable. He's always like this too. If he ran a country, he'd just kill and imprison people at random until crime stopped.

Why would you want to do something stupid like make friends? Isn't that what we make all these games for? So people can replace their friends with simulated experiences?
If the games on this site have taught me anything, be a douche and maintain your plot armor so people HAVE to befriend you. Like that extra character you wish you didn't have to maintain. Eventually they'll get used to you. Also make sure you do something psychotic and self centered. Worked in Sore Losers among other games.
Why the negative attitude, Tyranos? From what I've seen, yes, being a jerk and causing drama can potentially get you some attention. But apart from the fact that it makes you look bad and you risk being banned if you go crazy, getting attention is not the same as making friends. The people who have the most friends on this site, I think, tend to be those who are both productive and competent, and treat the other users in a kind and helpful manner.
Sure, there may be exceptions, but I really think that this idea of meanness equaling popularity and respect does not accurately represent the state of RMN's community. (I don't know, maybe it used to at some point in the past, but not any more.)

Hence the joke. I'm assuming this person loves games enough to know what I'm talking about but perhaps I should have been a little more clear about that. The first sentence talking about what I've learned from games on this site. Sore Losers I believe had a character that you HAD TO PUT UP WITH despite doing stupid shit. Pretty sure it was Sore Losers but I could be remembering the wrong game. I'll cover it all on my channel eventually so we shall see.
Ah, okay, so it was a misunderstanding then. I've never played Sore Losers so I thought you were making a serious statement about RMN rather than a joke about the story of a game. Never mind me, then.
Make friends elsewhere then drag their asses on this site. BOOM! Friends on this site.

ask for a team to make a game for you
later ditch whoever signs up. reason: too busy
author=_______
i will be your enemy if you ask
How is your name underscore? I didn't pay too much attention to sign ups, I assumed like everything else RMN required letters and numbers and no symbols.
Underscore is reserved for people who are classified as nobodies. A man who is nobody cannot have a name...
Some day you will understand, my sweet child.

That, LockeZ, is why so many people come here without ever finishing their games!
It's because those people are too balanced - you're either making friends a lot and never get a single point of makerscore or you're a slaving programmer who never speaks to the others, working on games all day. Failing to do either leaves you with a pile of unfinished games and lots of people who don't care about you.
