Gravity or Rock, he didn't pull meteors. He probably threw/moved boulders into the atmosphere, and pulls them down as needed.
Too convienent for them to come down so easy.
If he is rock, he's one of those manipulators, lugia? Not the type that is the substance.
Whatever the case, Luffy can kick his ass. Or he'll have to run because it's time to leave.
I've decided to get back into following One Piece. Being so far behind, I have quite a task ahead of me. What am I doing to catch up? Well, just bought One Piece Pirate Warriors 3 on Steam and intend on slamming through that. One Piece games are always a lot of fun, but I'm wondering if anyone here has gotten their hands dirty with it yet?
I watched an LP of it. It's very bare on the story and actually delves into a 'What if...?' universe so it's not true to canon. PW 1 and 2 are actually based around the story (though again, doesn't go in depth and skips over some great bits, doesn't build up the story as much as it could and delves into some filler/non-canon areas). Really, I'd recommend just reading the manga.
Yeah, it definitely does skip over a bit of stuff. The entire series of events on Alvida's ship isn't in the game, nor is Shanks saving Luffy from the sea monster. It covers the basics though, and does serve as a decent refresher while I kill time playing a decent little game. Not too far in though, just kicked Buggy's butt. Looking forward to Kuro, he was always a pretty cool villain.

I'm thinking I might have watched a different game. Or perhaps one of the other modes. I was half asleep at the time. I was sure it diverted from the proper story and had a certain someone still alive and kicking... I must be confusing games. I've watched a fair few LPs in the last few days, they've all blended in to a continuous stream. >.<;

I hate these games. It's like you can't play a single one because you're left with questions. You need to buy all games if you want to piece together a decent storyline and even then you need to have a shitload of consoles because the games almost always branch out across different consoles.
...or read the manga/watch the anime. Takes as much time to read the manga as to play through all three games, and it's the full story so...

Yes yes i read the manga, but i'm sure you understand videogames are an excellent form of interactive storytelling, which is why i feel bummed out whenever they completely cock it up like they often do with anime-based videogames.

I'm getting really tired of seeing all these crack theories about how Nami is supposed to become the next devil fruit user because Monet's devil fruit might grow on an orange from the sunny's orange tree.

Ace?

I don't even know if I should hide that, I thought it was common knowledge at this point, like Aeris. I'm a long ways off from knowing if he doesn't legit kick the bucket in the game, but I'll post here when I find out. I hope they don't change that, because it seems like a pretty major thing to disregard. From what I've read, the game supposedly faithfully follows the story up until Dressrosa or whatever it's called (after Impel Down, the arcs/story become very foggy because that's as far as I read/watched) while culling some minor arcs and filler. I looked at a walkthrough and noticed that the whole ordeal with Foxy before Water 7 is absent, but I don't mind too much. Never liked Foxy anyway.

And with that said, playing Pirate Warriors 3 kinda makes me want to check out Hyrule Warriors since it's also one of those Dynasty Warriors spin-off sort of games. Not sure why, but the game lets you use a few people at the beginning who don't appear until a little later (Tashigi) or A LOT later, as in New World later (Ivankov, Law).

But yeah, I'm just going to chill and play the game up until the last bits of the story that I'm familiar with for the sake of refreshing my knowledge of the series. After that, I'll try to legit follow it again.
Dear lord, guys. That last chapter - despite MangaPanda's usual fuck-up - was so good. Well worth being the 800th chapter of the series.

There were so many good points in it!
- Law smiling (and then being messed around with by Zoro of all people. Drunk Zoro, but still)
- The whole Childrens' cups sharing
- Rebecca and Kyros' small scene
- Luffy explaining (and Barty understanding first/best) that he doesn't want to take their freedom and doesn't want to be a Great man
- Sengoku catching Isshou out in his support of Luffy
- The party (finally!)

Great times and a great chapter! <3

That moment where the crews said their vows was incredibly monumental and awesome.
Truly a great moment. I feel quite happy with this chapter.

EDIT: Why are you using mangapanda? A scanlations website that still exclusively uses a page-by-page browsing is quickly being left behind by other websites with all-page support. I use mangasee (becoming manga.life soon), i find the translation better (for example, the 800 chapter's called "an underling's vow" instead of "exchanging akazukis" and has a bit more personality put into certain character's dialogue, at least i think so).

You forgot to mention that despite Luffy's unwillingness, the Straw Hat Grand Fleet is now a thing, which is fucking awesome. And of course Oda had to tease everyone by saying "These guys will be involved in a huge incident in the future" (if you remember, the last time Oda did that Marineford happened, so, holy fuck.)

Wow, the scans on this site are super nice! Thanks for the link.

All in all, this chapter was an excellent send off to the Dressrosa arc. Can't wait for 801 to see what's gonna happen next.
I jump on the first one that's on MangaReader, which is usually one of the first released, meaning MP, sadly. I ain't got no patience when it comes to OP.

...But that site has the chapter up almost as soon as it's released.

Hang on, luffy doesn't like the taste of alcohol? So what does he drink everytime he celebrates? Water?

That's a trope about censorship though.

I don't remember very good, but i recall luffy once said that a pirate crew should be getting drunk while listening to music when he was throwing a tantrum about wanting a musician on the ship. I don't know if i i'm bullshitting because i read it too long ago though so i may be wrong.

Yeah I know, I was just kidding around about it.

Well, he said he didn't like the taste of alcohol, not that he wouldn't drink it. It's possible that his assertion that pirates must drink is like his assertions to Franky about "romantic adventuring" and wearing armour- he thinks he needs to do it in order to do things "right".

Either that or he was making a quick excuse to not drink the parent cup. But Luffy doesn't seem like the kind of guy to make an excuse like that, since he sucks at lying.
Yeah, very likely he drinks it because it's what pirates -do-, but he doesn't really like the taste of it much. He is still rather childish in the way he does things and thinks, so it's not too far from his character to do something like that.

Most adults would either say no because they don't drink or drink it. They'd also have listened to Silvers when he was going to tell them about One Piece, take heed of Nami's warnings about danger more often, worry more about his actions and how they will cause reactions in the world and just be a lot more conscious of his own choices and how they affect his crew.

Thankfully, Luffy is childish and has an idealised image in his mind of how pirates are supposed to be, and thus, how he wants to be. Which is great, or he wouldn't be Luffy any more.
I played a bit of Pirate Warriors 3 now, here's a few things I thought while playing through the plot:

-Several highly dramatic scenes are either dropped (such as Shanks saving Luffy) or abbreviated (such as Sanji's backstory)
-'What if' scenarios will most likely only occur when doing side missions like beating Mihawk in Chapter 1, most seem to be only extra plot scenes unlocked. I had one where Luffy encourages Corby and an exchange between Sanji and Luffy about defending the Baratie
-It's far less graphical in most places, like in the scene where Mihawk slices open Zorro, it doesn't even leave censor marks (the black spots most censored Anime has)
-Usopp is absurdly powerful because most of his attacks are not only ranged, but also unblockable. His special move does have a lot of startup which lets the enemies dodge easily, though.

I can write a bit more as I continue.
