Nothing reveals Humanity so well as the games it plays. A game of betrayal, where the most suspicious person is brutally murdered? How savage.

> Hurry along
I'll post the next one tomorrow. It'll be a long update. So many words I'll have to type. ;.;

...I should get my lamp fixed.

You haven't fixed your lamp yet? I'm not sure what computer screen you have, but most of the time screens are bright enough to illuminate keyboards, right?

They told me I was mad when I said I was going to create a spidertable. Who’s laughing now!!!

Not if she has poor vision. You know, that happens to us older folk, Jeroen. I can see fine, but my father can't see the keyboard unless every light in the room is on.
Sure, it's bright enough to see the keyboard, but reading the book with small text by screenlight is a great way to hurt your eyes. Especially when there's nothing on my desk to prop the book up on. I basically hold the book in my teeth (not great for the book, I know, but again, nothing to prop it open with, and you don't want to lose the page you're on) then type, then check for the next few words, then type, then again, then type. It's an arduous process.

You're welcome.

Do y'all not have bookmarks in Australialand?
Closing and reopening the book every time I want to type up a paragraph of text is more effort than just holding it open with my teeth. It saves time. ;p

I guess reading the book by monitor light would be pretty arduous and not worth the effort, yeah.

Maybe I'm not seeing the problem with keeping the book open, but using your teeth sounds like it'd be really unnecessary. You must have some spare objects you can lay on top of the book that are heavy enough to keep it open, right? XD
The way my desk is set up isn't great for reading books, unfortunately. ^.^;

Oh, good grief. You can get a clamp at any hardware store for 2 dollars. But this leaves the question; why not just scan the page in and then black out what you don't want us to see? Or maybe search online and see if there's a PDF version available?

Work smart, not hard.
Yeah, I have nowhere to put the clamp if I bought one. My desk is... well, it's tiny. I'm fine using my teeth in this instance. XD I also do not have a scanner and I don't see myself getting one in the near future. Besides, I edit parts to make them a bit more interesting (the battles, for example? All that description text ain't in the books. Nor is some of the stuff I use to make a bit more forum-interaction friendly.)

I'll put up the new page after I finish babysitting my niece. ;p

Forget where to put the clamp. The point is to be able to put the book down. That can't be good for your teeth.
You speed up as much as you're able, following the footprints doggedly for about an hour or two before you stumble up a cliff top, overlooking a valley. The smoke is clearing and in the valley lies the large rocky Sphere, still spitting forth gouts of fire and plumes of filthy black smoke. There are a few, small, human-sized figures around the Sphere.

Thankfully you have your Climbing kit, enabling you to climb down the cliff face without issue. You now stand a few hundred metres from the Sphere, creeping forward through burnt and blackened tree-stumps and rocks. Unfortunately, you have little cover, and you are soon spotted by two guards. They look like animated corpses, but they are blue-skinned, the water in the their bodies is solid ice, and what seems to be breath is frosting on the air before them. Their eyes are vacant and their faces, expressionless. You have to fight the two Ice Ghosts here, together.

- Ice Touch: -1 Stamina
- Slash: -2 Stamina (goes last)

- Ice Touch: -1 Stamina
- Slash: -2 Stamina (goes last)

- Dagger: -1 Stamina (go first)
- Crowbar: -1 Stamina (call cointoss for stun next turn)
- Potion of Stamina (restore half Max Stamina, one use)

Both enemies will be able to attack you each turn. You have to choose which to attack for which turn, when you call. For example:
Crowbar Ghost 1, Dagger Ghost 2
Crowbar Ghost 1, Crowbar Ghost 1

It's not that big. A paperback of about.... 170 pages? Pretty small, just a bit big for the tiny room on my desk. But enough about that!

I ended cutting out some superfluous fluff in this section. It was mainly to do with the battle and climbing down the cliff (if you have x then do this otherwise do this instead, blah blah). I've been doing a lot of that when it comes to things that don't matter as far as the story goes (like 'roll a dice and add this to it to see if you're smart enough to notice this thing'). Instead, I figure if you have the item, you're safe to go. If you don't, then fall you will. That kind of thing. It makes it a lot more story oriented and interactive instead of having to stop and roll dice all the time just to see if you need to fall down and break your face or not. :/

It's really just stuff that doesn't matter anyway, no worries, and I add extra stuff to make up for it (and customise the tale a little). ;p

Afterwards:

Crowbar - Tails, Ghost 2
Crowbar - Heads, Ghost 2
You swing at the second ghost, deciding it looks like the weaker of the two. Your dagger hits home, drawing a line up the arm of the creature, exposing the blood of the creature to the air, causing frosty steam to issue from the cut as it shambles towards you, arms outstretched. It grabs you as a counter, holding onto your arm as it's companion also grabs at you. Ice cold floods your body from where they touch you and you grit your teeth against the chilling pain, trying to struggle out of their grasp.

You bring up the crowbar to defend against their icy hands, slashing them away and hitting the second one across the face with the hard metal bar, as they slowly bring up their swords in tandem, swinging down at you with surprising speed. It's impossible to dodge the attacks and you take deep cuts to your forearms and shoulders.

You retaliate, striking out again at the second ghost, trying to knock it off it's feet. It falls but grabs your leg on the way down, making it impossible for you to get out of the way of the attack of the first ghost who again brings the sword down on you quickly.

Thankfully it wasn't a skillful slice and you shrug it off as you hit the downed enemy, hoping to take it out before it can get back into the battle. You manage a heavy blow on it's head but it costs you, as the other ghost slashes out with its sword again, this time cutting you across the thigh.

Okay.

Crowbar - Tails, Ghost 2
Dagger, Ghost 2

will leave us at a minimum of 2 HP, after which we can use a stamina potion. We then need to whack the first ghost in the face with the crowbar 6 times, and finish it off with a dagger attack, hoping the ghost will use the ice touch enough and that the dice rolls are lucky enough to make us survive. Not getting enough stuns in will surely get us killed. -.-
So, what happened with this thing?
