:THE GAME MAKING DRIVE/BLOG TOPIC

Posts

Hmm, this is rather interesting, I think I'll join in. My time will be 12 am at any given day of the week. But I'll make a starting update now.

Today I got some major work done on my new Menu for SEB. I just have one character's digits left. Then I can focus on the SP and Money digits. I thought this was going to be rather hard, but I remembered a method of finding coordinates followed by some simple math to speed things up a ton.

Also, no more leading zeros, fixed transitions, and a cleaner layout makes this much more professional feeling....I hope.
So Silver4Donuts, GRAND OVERLORD of menus, you have nothing to make fun of now!

God I talk too much.

WIP is correct because you wouldn't want 4-way tile movement on a map like that. Any kind of work done like that is designed for pixel based movement.

I mean it looks fantastic, but it just isn't ideal.

But isn't imdahl the same?
I wouldn't get too serious in this considering we have limited time since it's for a competition but yeah I Do get what you guys mean.

maybe if a devil possess me I will transfer it to a better engine, but I'm a n00b when it comes to programming wise so have mercy one me ;-;

Played around with a face graphic today that has hair straight out of a Dr. Suess illustration. You can imagine the fun I had with that (not). That pretty much took the whole time frame, and then some before, and it's still not done (mostly is though), but I'm tired. And such excuses. x.x

Here's the finished product, though, touched it up this morning:

Various stages of transformation (why the hell not post it?)

Also, that is an epic giant teddy bear you have there, ness.

I finally managed to not fall asleep before my game making drive, soo...

Today I finished last bits of the intro, did some images for the health bars, menu, and the level scores, as well as coded all those things. Most of the graphics are done soon, so I've got just to create the game levels and rest of the cutscenes.

I'm positive I might actually finish the game in time.
Ok so I don't have any progress to report on my game, But I would like to set a goal for the week. By the end of this week (October 17) I feel I should have S.I.M. completed, so I wish to announce that as a goal, for my game to be finished.

That does it! I'm getting in on this. I've been lacking the drive to work on my games, so I'm gonna join in an effort to actually make some progress. My time will be from 7 to 9 on Sunday nights; the only time I can guarantee I won't be at work or school. Of course, I'll still try to work on stuff all the rest of the week, but none of that's definite.

These last few weeks have been terrible for Pokemon Hunter's progress. PH4's still on the back burner while I'm fixing up PH2 and 3, much like I did with PH1 a little while ago. I finished patching up the first area of PH2 tonight, as well as some custom graphics that needed help and some old sloppy scripting. Not knowing how to use fork conditions really hindered me back then...
35 minutes late!

I made some more menu progress but I won't go into that.

I also started on the additional tutorial events in the intro to outline the various systems in real time rather than pure reading. That should cover all the shortcomings the current version has for now.

Why can't things come out perfect the first time around?
I just finished a few character designs, man school is a killer but anyway here's one
I have had no time to work on games lately... mainly because I have a friend I am planning on making a game with and I've been busy trying to make sprites for him... which isn't too easy with him. He makes the concept art and I try to make it in sprite form. Once I have his consent I will show you the sprites I've made.
Skie: love the meno =^.^=

Nessiah: The gun lady looks really cute :D

Anyway, both yesterday and today, worked on those templates:

I feel like my progress is too insignificant for reports, even though I've worked on the game for whole day again. It's just that I've been coding the game systems, etc minor. :|

Face. Comment. Stuff. Amazing, right. >.> No. I don't have much to say, this was the whole time. >.<
I haven't given up on this, right now I have a lot of work to do (both regular work and college work), and midterms are the middle of this week. Hooray :(
Euphorian- Too much blue, his hair is fine, but consider changing the color of his clothes/headband.

I worked a little on the tutorial battle that will try and go over everything as you do it. Hopefully this will clear up the 'complex for nothing' heat SEB's battle system's been getting somewhat.

Worked on big maps and trying to make Ocean's idle stance a bit better D:

prolly done
RealmS
- Messed with NPCs
- Fiddled with maps
- Looked over dialogue
- Play tested
- Changed music tracks

3HP
- Compiled resources
- Created introduction
- Made maps (about 8 Inners)
- Messed with database
- Went over 3 hour limit
- Start anew tomorrow XP - didn't get NPCs, story of any kind or any gameplay done

I think I'm gonna use the same resources, just not aim for 'perfection', as it were.
