Hey, I found time during the day to work on my overhaul! How'd that happen?! ::)
I only worked for an hour and a half, but I still accomplished something big. I had to make a battle script that randomly targets one party member (that isn't KO'd) through variables and fork conditions. Sounds simple, huh? It wasn't. When you can't say for sure which heroes are in the group (or how many are in it), it can be quite tricky making a blanket to cover all the possibilities. But, I did it, and I never have to do it again (until next game). So, yeah, good lil' hour or so's work there. More to come, hopefully.
Oh, and Max's charset looks cool.

Okay, so I made some progress on Vermicide just now, finished the first half of the first floor of the bunker, did a small stretch of B2 you can fall into, and added a bunch to the database, built the "resting" system.
Now I'm going to start working on something...else (not Mage Duel, not Vermicide, and not my mysterty project).

Ah, sorry for the multiple misses. Had a lot of stuff going on. During that time I didn't really work on my project but I did some spriting.

Last night through today:
Imported one million redundant and excessive resources and made 18 really really really good maps for the harroween contest. Eighteen out of about 30, by my reckoning. No liteing FX (or any kind of gameplay) yet, just maps. Knocking those suckers out, getting 'em out of the way.

Today i only had enough time to do one thing and that was Designing some animations for my contest game.
Yesterday, I finally got to finish the database for items, weapons, spells & armor. I'm not really worried about having all the monsters ready in each episode, but I did get the spells sorted out for each character.
Oh right, my drive. We'll I have been working the game for past... 32 hours! Directing scenes, yes!... Done soon. Then just need to do the gameplay levels tomorroooow... z_z
Yesterday, I changed the starting equipment for all characters, and started making Episode 2, and began linking all those new areas.
It has now been seven years since Dragon Kingdoms IV was released, as well.

Got a little more done today. I fixed up some stuff in area 2 of PH2. I had to adjust a bunch of ladders so that when the player walks up and down them, the hero stays facing the ladder instead of literally walking up and down it. I also patched up these DK sprites a bit.

It's almost impossible to tell from this distance, but I varied up the colors around some of his edges. They used to be all solid colors, so now it looks a bit better. I stil haven't done the ones in the top right, so maybe you can tell the difference there. Anyway, nothing else much to report at the moment.

Got the first veeeeeery short leg of the world map sort of done.

I'll probably stick a monster or two in there later. As you can see, no custom graphics for the characters yet... so far, everything except that world map chipset you're looking at is RTP.

Minor nitpick: The coastline is way too straight to be natural. Nature has lots of chaos. Parts of a coastline will erode while others build. Try going to a lake, river, or ocean sometime.
