Well, I don't have awesome screenshots, kickass animation, and cool concept art, but I did accomplish a lot in the past 20 days!

Captain's Log - Stardate 27102008.1

Hero's Realm:
  • Populated Parvinder (the town of lies!)
  • Mapped Arborlon (city)
  • Mapped San Vegas tunnel (cave)
  • Mapped Stromholm's secret underground passage (catacombs)
  • Mapped Shelob's Lair (multi-party battle)
  • Begun playtesting full game
  • Made monsters, monster groups and areas for Chapter 5 overworld mainland
  • Took stock of what needs to be done to finish mainland quests (not much!)
  • Fixed numerous mapping errors on World Map
  • Fixed teleportation to move the Ship and the Airship to the city you've teleported to
  • Bunch of other stuff I can't remember!

Total Time Spent Over the Past 20 Days (so far): umpteen hours-ish


Would anyone be interested in reading a Let's Play of Hero's Realm? The thought occurred to me while I was play testing, and reading Feld's Let's Play for FFIV.

That would be the coolest thing ever.

Over the last few days i have been slowly testing Demon Destiny 1 and adding new stuff.

-Fixed the menu system and battle system.
-Added new item system.
-Fixed some grammer mistakes in the dialogue.
-Hopefully be releasing in a few days with more less bugs.

I COMPLETED A GAME TODAY. Oh yeah... though my drive was yesterday!

Even though it hahs felt it has been ongoing for the entire month.

Time to transfer back onto Asc. After a few days rest...



Oh yes, a completely uninformative post! But, still!
I haven't been doing a whole lot of work on Catastrophe thanks to Fable II and other things, but I've started trying to lower all the stats to make the battle system simpler (which ultimately means redesigning the dungeons). I tried shaving a digit off everything at first, but that didn't quite work... I'm getting closer to a good balance, though. No turning back now that I've messed everything up.
Besides that, I haven't been doing much. I haven't mapped anything recently except the world map. I've had all the dungeons for the demo mapped for a while, though, so I'm done mapping for a while anyway.

Chug chug chugging along on my Halloween project.

I convinced someone special to do light maps for me, so that's pretty cool!
I'm going to have a big ass update by the end of the day.
Yesterday, I finally finished connecting areas in the first part of Episode 2. Ever since The Game Making Drive started (with a 5-7 day exception), Dragon Kingdoms: Birth of a Legend development has really taken off.

Looks like I'll be readying the next set of areas by November.
It took me 3 hours since I was using a laptop mouse (sliding weird thing) and hiding from my father since it was 12 midnight T_T

That's a big scythe.
Started up my game's RMN page today and finally finished the skill libraries for all four of the characters and tomorrow I'll finish programming the menus since only the main characters is finished.

I had work at 7:30 AM, so I couldn't update!

Yesterday, I added some enemies to the database to ready the setting of monster groups. Not a lot done, but better than nothing.
I am going to try this. Sign me up for 11:00AM.
Today's Accomplishments

I finished programming the Skill Library CMS and thank god for that! But the transformation from the screenshot that's on the game's devblog is amazing. I'm pretty happy with it. :)

Today's Progress:

Demon's Gate
Redid Provoke (inflicts Berserk) skill since it is incredibly broken (Berserked enemies would do a quarter of their intended damage due to how enemies attack). Replaced it with a condition that prevents Magic skills from being used and halfs Intelligence.
The Underworld Boss+PowerEnemies had no stats and their AI was basic. Fixed both but they're currently untested.
Buffs can't miss anymore (there's another whoops)
All high powered (aka untested) player skills no longer crash the game (I never 'set' the skill animations)
Made a dummy attribute so the enemy AI will actually use its buff skills (the AI never uses self->inflict condition skills so all buffs give resistance to this dummy attribute so the AI will use it)
