Assuming I can see Leara slicing up this last wolf, I'll continue tending to Agnelia's and my own wounds.

"That was certainly an experience. Thank you, Leara, you might just have saved our hides. Although I doubt that was what these animals were interested in. A bit of a disgusting idea, as a matter of fact..."
LockeZ
I'd really like to get rid of LockeZ. His play style is way too unpredictable. He's always like this too. If he ran a country, he'd just kill and imprison people at random until crime stopped.

I roll a natural 1 for my Con save, though I'm not sure what this one is actually for. With my stat bonus that's a 4. Good thing I'm already awake, because I feel like I'm about to pass out again.

I realize there's someone between me and a wolf, protecting me. "Th... thanks," I stammer. Wait, what? "Thanks," I say again, louder, and realize I can't hear my own voice, just a ringing sound.

The pain is overwhelming. Without understanding what I'm doing, I use Sacrificied Power to increase my AC and heal myself. The blood of many flows through my veins. (I roll a 6 for the healing amount.)

Nobody's saved anybody! You've still got a healthy, uninjured wolf attacking you, and it's just dealt a hit to your leg.

As for me, my critical hit should kill the wolf attacking me, but that doesn't necessarily mean it will. If we're playing by D&D rules then a natural 1 would negate all modifiers; a critical miss. Just like rolling a 20 is an automatic hit.

There's only one wolf left. One ran away after you hit it, and I turned another one insane and made it flee. The only way this fight isn't over yet at this point would be if your crit doesn't kill the remaining wolf.

Edit: Wait, now I'm confused... How many wolves were/are there in fact?

Edit 2: Yeah, I'll just wait for Seiromem to clear this up, and then change my action accordingly. Sorry for the confusion.
Never mind, I see where I misunderstood the situation now. Time to edit my action.

The wolf that fled came back. That's the one that's attacking me. The one you drove insane is the one I knocked off of Agnelia. You've still got a wolf that's attacking you, but nobody's touched yet.

All right, I messed up earlier. Sorry about that. Here's my actual action.

This remaining wolf doesn't seem to be aware that it is incapable of biting me, or anyone, at the moment. But it will be now, I'll make sure of that. I cast Prestidigitation to conjure up some sand inside of the wolf's mouth and nose, so that it can no longer clamp down on anything else.

My Chaotic Magic roll is a 22.
(Although, if I may make a suggestion, Seiromem, would you mind if we determine that Prestidigitation does not trigger the Chaotic Magic side effects? Because I can already tell that I'm going to be using that spell a LOT over the course of this campaign, and I'm afraid the constant side effects would probably start ruining the flow of the adventure very quickly. And with its great versatility, the spell is already kind of chaotic itself anyway.)

You can only critically fail or succeed on attack rolls.

If you guys really wanted to, I would allow for crit success on anything and crit fails on anything if you so desire.

As for Prestidigitation, I can agree that that's more of an everyday magician's parlor trick, while things like Implant Memory and Chaotic Summon draw from your chaotic magic pool. So from this point onwards your prestidigitation no longer incurs chaotic magic effects.
-----Turn 11-----
Leara quickly regains her composure and whips around with her sword, cutting the wolf's head clean off. She stands and sees that the elf is awake and glowing with a dull power.
Agnelia heals for 6, and cures 7 stacks of fatigue. She is surrounded by a shield of silver string-like lines. Aldus casts a prestidigitation on the wolf, who begins to choke and cough up sand. All it can do is weakly swipe its paw at Aldus, to no effect.

Wolf 3 has fled completely!
Wolf 2 is killed!
Wolf 1 is coughing up sand!

Attack Wolf 1

Rolled an 8. That gives me 13.

you have advantage as it is too busy coughing up sand. Roll again and take the higher.

18, nice! So I definitely have full 20 with that.

And I don't mind how you do rolls. I was just repeating the regular rules as I understand them.

Thanks, Seiromem. I'd like to imagine Prestidigitation is probably the only actual wizard spell Aldus still remembers from the academy...

So that worked pretty well. Even the mysterious elven woman is up again now. Let's try that again, this time getting some ash into the wolf's eyes.

I don't think I can afford to stand back. Attack wolf 1.

I roll a 13 to hit, 14 after modifiers.
I roll an 8 for damage.

-----Turn 12-----
Leara gets up and attacks the coughing wolf, raising her sword and bringing it down over it's shoulder, tearing it's tendons. Before the wolf can react, a thin metal whip crack it's jugular and splits it, causing the wolf to gush blood. It collapses into death.

With the threat gone, the trio has time to regard one another.

I inspect my shoulder and find the wound to be oddly shallow and minor. Odd. It felt a lot worse at the time.

I introduce myself. "I am Agnelia, guardian of the forest. Thank you for your help. I come from the temple of..."

...I pause as I suddenly realize that in all the years I spent growing up at the temple, it was never once referred to by a name. Only as 'the temple.'

"Um, it's that way." I point into the forest, my finger swinging vaguely in an unsure arc of about 30 degrees. "But... no one is left there now."

I'll go ahead and put that skill point into persuasion.

"I am Leara, and I hope you weren't badly hurt." Observe Agnelia Perception roll: 15, +5.

Leara almost calls it the Temple of That Way, but even without observation, it's clear to see Agnelia is in distress, so this probably isn't the time to be cracking jokes. "What happened? Why is everyone gone?"

Agnelia is an extremely young elf (about 11 years old) with a thin metal whip and stark white robes. She (insert physical description by LockeZ here).

"They all..."

...

I stand silently for about thirty seconds, looking into the forest.

Without looking back, I ask, "...Hey. Where are you from? Are you both from the same place? Are you going somewhere together?"

(Agnelia is wispy and has waist-length white hair. She's barefoot but seems completely comfortable standing in the snow. She's currently covered in her own blood, but the wounds she sustained during the fight are almost completely gone.)

Look in the direction Agnelia pointed Perception roll 15, +5.

"My friend and I have only just met. We were going to the mines, but I don't think a detour would hurt too much. We have to get your shoes, don't we? It's not good to stay barefoot in the snow." I consider my own wounds. "Perhaps we should rest first. Methinks our visit to this temple may be eventful." I address Aldus. "You were wondering about food. Wolf meat may not be to your liking--I certainly know it's not to mine--, but at the moment, it's what's available."
LockeZ

I look down at my feet confused. "I'm not cold though. I don't have any shoes anyway."

As I say that, it occurs to me that I'm really, really not cold. I'm used to the cold, but I should still at least be able to FEEL it. Why can't I feel it, I wonder?

Confused and embarassed and not sure if this is normal or if there's something wrong with me, I decide not to mention it. Maybe the snow out here is just different than at the temple. I don't want to sound like a fool.

I sit down on a log next to one of the dead wolves and poke it with my finger a few times. "I think I was just at some mines," I say after spending a moment too long thinking about it. "People were digging and carrying things out of a cave. I didn't go in though."

I love how the Drow bard is apparently the most sane person in this party.

Also, I realise pianotm and I never described the appearance of our own characters. This seems like a good time to do that now.
Aldus looks like a rather young human man, probably not much older than 20 years, although his short, dark black hair already shows some streaks of grey. His skin is an extremely pale white, and he wears (currently rather dirty) blue-greyish mage robes that oddly enough have no visible symbols on it. Other than that, there doesn't appear to be anything special about him, except for his annoying habit of blinking very often and at rapid but irregular intervals.

"Thanks a lot, both of you. That was uncomfortably close."
Turning towards the elven child I now know as Agnelia, I introduce myself as well: "A pleasure to meet you, Agnelia. My name is Aldus Alastair, but most people call me Aldus for short. Say, that was a rather unconventional way of introducing oneself to strangers, albeit effective. Could it be that you suffer from amnesia, perhaps? Well, I say "suffer," but it's actually not that bad, really. A nice way of starting over fresh.

"But I agree, Leara, we should rest and tend to our wounds first. Would you like to share a meal with us, Agnelia?" I begin picking up some loose branches and pieces of wood, only to suddenly stop and look at the Drow again confusedly. "Wait, what makes you think wolf meat won't be to our liking? It's edible, correct? So what would you like, then?"

Edit: I'll take a MAGI affinity, upgrade the Implant Memory Spell, and spend my skill points on Arcana, Intimidation, Medicine, Nature, Perception and Survival, please.
