I'm not sure why, but I find her creepy. Imagine waking up at night to her screaming like a banshee at you.

Poets are liars. They speak with the forked tongue of the serpent, who hides away in his venomous den, forever fearful of the sun's stern gaze upon it's guilt-ridden soul.

Dragons are kinda serpents too, right?
It depends. If the dragon has no arms or legs (which we do see in some myths), then yes, it's a serpent.
In the second hobbit movie Thranduil king of the wood elves says something to Thorin about not talking to him of dragon fire since he knew it's ruin since he had battled the "great serpents of the north". I wonder if he did mean limbless dragons.
Well, a dragon is supposed to be a large lizard with bat's wings, so technically he's a reptile, but not exactly a serpent.
I believe in the past, certain dragons like the Gorynych were supposed to be more related to serpents, likely due to their long, multiple heads. It's been a while since I've read about it, so I could be wrong.
But...... Reptiles are still cold-blooded. In a poetic sense, the dragons of Europe are as well, due to their habit of ravaging countrysides and terrorizing life around them in general.
Let's not forget what modern media has done for reputations of past monsters, though. Pete's Dragon, Puff the Magic Dragon, the Inheritance series, How to Train Your Dragon, to name a few.
