[PLAY TIME] BULLET BALLOT MAFIA

I think it was MrBlue in the pub with a beer bottle!
OBJECTION!
That isn't faithful to the original game! Neither Mr. Blue appeared in Cluedo, and neither did the pub as a room, or the beer bottle as a weapon!
@Liberty Maybe making a countdown timer like Nessie did in Werewolf would be helpful for us to keep track of the time! :)
Yeah, a countdown timer would be real nice.
Anyway, Ratty, I think it's unfair to say people aren't suspicious of pianotm. But with how fast the thread moves, it might have been missed. I know I've stated suspicion of them, and I believe one other person did. (might have been Jeroen_Sol? Just got back from work and I'm too lazy to dig back the pages to find that)
Actually, unless Libby explains the discrepancy in the rules, I hold more suspicion towards pianotm and Gourd than I do towards Ratty right now.

I can't find where Libby contradicted the voting rule. All I can find is the vote or die clause in the OP. Any other mention of voting was her retconning the rule saying we couldn't disclose who we'd be voting for (which I never interpreted the original version of that rule like that until people started saying it was confusing.).
In the PM she said, "If you do not send a ballot before the Day Phase ends, your vote will go towards you." So that's probably where the confusion's coming from!
Yes exactly. That's in my PM as well. So why didn't paino or gourd know that? Unless their PM is different.
I can understand forgetting a rule that was in the opening post, but forgetting a rule in your PM? That you read just before we started the game? And also not bothering to point out the difference when I only mentioned one of the instances of the rule last night? Sits wrong with me.
I can understand being silent about it for the same reason I was silent about it - but that was obviously not the case with piano who today proved they didn't know about that discrepancy.
THAT'S why it makes me suspicious.

Especially since both Kloe and Jeroen instantly pointed out the difference when the vote = kill rule was mentioned again around them.

Nothing reveals Humanity so well as the games it plays. A game of betrayal, where the most suspicious person is brutally murdered? How savage.

I was under the impression that we were keeping quiet about that to give piano a chance to tell us himself it was in his PM. Oh well, cat's out of the bag now.
"Use the tag #ballot <name> in the PM sent. PMs must be sent during the Day Phase. If you do not send a ballot before the Day Phase ends, your vote will go towards you."
This line? Not much difference, except it's saying you're self voting.

Well, the discrepancy is that the PM says you're self voting while the opening post says that you'd be killed in place of the person who was supposed to be lynched. It's definitely a very clear difference!

It is very meta though, and I don't like that. I very much hope that it was an honest mistake on piano's part, and that Liberty didn't make the mistake of adding that rule to the town PMs, but not the scum PMs. That would completely ruin the game.

Ah, it seems the line actually was in piano's PM. Good.
It is very meta. We're not supposed use our PMs at all. In fact, Crystal-Mint and I, by all rights, should now be mod-killed for disclosing the exact wording of a portion of our PM. That's pretty much an automatic thing.
Yeah I was deliberately not saying it was in the PM as well because
a) I think it's probably a mistake and I'm not sure if that's fair since I'm new to this game and;
b) I didn't want to point right to it because anyone could say "oh I got that as well"
But! paino just copy pasted it straight out the same, so I think it was just an overlook in the end. :) That's good, it was bugging me.
Still though, I wonder which rule is the RIGHT rule. since it can result in very different things.
A person without suspicion not voting getting one vote against them might have no negative impact. Where as insta-death is insta-impact.

The only reason I took a chance on quoting out of my PM is because I didn't see Libby list the rule, but I might have just missed it.
Really? I didn't know we couldn't quote the PMs ;o;
I was just trying to clarify the rules, since it's kind of confusing right now with the contradictions
