[PLAY TIME] BULLET BALLOT MAFIA

With only 11 and a half hours left, I've decided I won't go to bed until I've cast my ballot.
LockeZ
I'd really like to get rid of LockeZ. His play style is way too unpredictable. He's always like this too. If he ran a country, he'd just kill and imprison people at random until crime stopped.

The loli avatar is for the Highlander's Realm D&D game. But I can photoshop an FF6 cartridge into her hand as a compromise if it'll make you feel better.

Geez guys, stop posting so fast! >_<

I actually can't remember why I chose Isrieri that well. I think his general "voice of reason" persona that he puts on in this mafia game and others just comes off as suspicious to me.

Isrieri

Also I'm sure we can probably accuse people of being scum/lead a bandwagon.
Scum has little incentive to lead a bandwagon or make a commotion: Because all votes are cast in secret, town doesn't have a ballot to pressure mafia with.

So I propose this: We should announce who we're going to vote for like in regular mafia and then the challenge of this game is going to be in figuring out who lied and who stuck with their vote. Liberty's going to provide the vote scores, just not the names.

If we announce our intentions then that gives us back some control over the game.

Like this. He kind of takes a leadership role, here, and if enough people trust him, it might be disastrous for town. It could just be a dumb assumption of mine, though. :V

I'm sticking with my vote, but LockeZ and pianotm are also on my radar; the former for suddenly changing his avatar into a loli and the latter for how well he was able to dupe everyone in the past game. These two are probably the most dangerous Mafia players in the community right now.

Don't you think this is a little unfair? If I were to make meta-arguments, I would have very good ones for Jeroen_Sol, LockeZ, Yellow_Magic, and you. Meta-arguments don't work because most of what wins a mafia has nothing to do with skill. I have never played a game where Isrieri played scum (that I recall at the moment), but in every mafia I've played with him, I've suspected him at least a couple of times. He reads the same to me as always. I think he's town.

I don't know about you. From Game On, you only post once and now that we're talking about you, come back and your first post is entirely meta.
Uh, I was halfway through editing the post when I had to go and have dinner. >.<;

There's about 20 hours left. I miscounted. XD

Oh, thank you so much. I can barely keep my eyes open. Good night!

Nothing reveals Humanity so well as the games it plays. A game of betrayal, where the most suspicious person is brutally murdered? How savage.

So we had a modkill for an accidental double-edit by a newbie on day 1? That's brutal.

Ratty and Makio have caught my attention the most so far.

It's true Isrieri always tries to be the voice of reason, whether he is town or scum. That's a nulltell at best, though, and getting paranoid over strong players could be a convenient ruse to try to get rid of said strong players. CAVE_DOG has been lynched for this reason quite a few times a well, and we were wrong every time.
I do agree LockeZ's sudden avatar change warrants an explanation, though. It is a tried-and-true method of making yourself look more believable.

Makio is also giving me weird vibes. She's the second most active player in this thread right now, but all of her posts have been very short, only one or two sentences, and many of them have been about things other than the game, or just repeats of what had already been said. It feels like she's trying to appear active while simultaneously not wanting to offer her own insights. I don't like it. It could just be because she's new, though.

Oh, it looks like LockeZ explained the avatar thing while I was writing this post. I think it sounds believable.

I feel bored. How odd.

To the conversation two or three pages back, I've also made only two or three posts, not counting this one, but that was mostly because I was away.

Aetherrevival, as pointed out by Isrieri, also had made a fairly strange post. If I remember correctly, they showed up just to throw some random accusation combined with weird pictures.

lol, I'm just using an avatar, guys.... It's enjoyable and not against the rules (I'd asked about it on the very first page), so I'm going to keep doing it.

And, it is just a game of point and kill. I won't lie; If I'm feeling in the mood for it, I'm going to try to get everyone here killed.

We could probably lynch aetherrevival for very similar reasons to ratty, but I'm not sure how I feel about lynching a new player on day 1.

Yeah, AR hasn't been talking much, either. Still, s/he's a newbie, too? Damn, that makes six possible newbies.

Nah, I get the idea of the game, I just have a lot on my hands and I can't really come on here and make a lot of posts. I'm trying to put in my two cents in, when I can.

And, if you all see that as suspicious, then feel free to go ahead and lynch me. It's part of the game, after all.

BIC:

I don't know if an avatar change is enough to call him guilty. I guess it could be like changing blood-stained clothes....

Of course, I'd like to point out that the D&D forum thing has been up for a little while. It seems kinda funny that he'd go and change it now. Maybe it's coincidence....?

So many people posted while I was asleep ;v;

I'm guessing this means you're not new to the game? If so, I agree with piano; your accusations are definitely pretty suspicious...

Also, what does changing avatars even do?(referring to LockeZ) Is it actually a way to make yourself look more trustworthy? :o

It has proven to indeed do just that. There was one game I hosted where Happy was the last remaining scum. He switched his bloodthirsty avatar for a Toon Link avatar, and won the game. After the game, the last townie confirmed his judgement was in part influenced by the friendly avatar.

Also, AR, please do at the very least try to play this game seriously. Yes, it's just a game, but no, it's no fun for anyone if you just screw around.

........Yeah, sure.

Regardless of whether I am messing around with fake avatars or not, I still say what I'd said in the above post.

Shots fired -o-

I hate being wrong about things, so I'm not good at sharing my own intuition. But I'm still leery over Gourd trying to ask who wasn't thinking about voting, since passing on voting has the big consequence of death. (which I realize I was too vague in getting at the last time I tried to say it.) That to me, still felt like trying to make a move that would put the people who didn't read the rules too well at a disadvantage. And to a lesser extent, as mentioned before, paino and Isrieri who both seemed quick to take charge of the scene, in particular offering advice on how to play. Which may have been a kind gesture, but may also have been a way to keep the newbies playing the game in a way that works to their own advantages.

Ideally, you talk as much as possible. A silent town is a losing town. If mafia don't have to talk it makes it easy for them to coast under the radar. The whole point of mafia is that you look at people's posts and the way they are voting while trying to surmise their motives for saying what they say.
Like, this line here. Without prior experience with the game, I cannot confirm or deny the truth of this. This might have been a post to get newbie mafia players to post a lot to try to cover themselves up - and make them suspicious for following the suggestion. Or it might have been a way to get town newbies to post a lot and trick other players into thinking that means they were mafia. OR MAYBE it was an earnest and helpful comment. Who knows? xD Not me.

@Crystal-Mint - I guess the change of icon affecting trust depends on what you trust more - a loli or House.
Yeah I think a lot of people aren't too clear on the rules right now.
To clarify:
1) You MUST vote before nighttime (unless you want to die)
2) Only the special votes (such as null ballot) can't disclose who they're voting for. Disclosure of normal voting is fine.

Did I miss anything?

No... That guy who died was cool! NOOO!!!
Which one of you guys did such a thing!? I hope none of you. I don't feel any of you can of done it but you must have.
We have a murderer in this town, possibly part of the so called Mafia... I don't like where this is heading.
I THINK THEY ARE TRYING TO KILL US, by arousing suspicion from each-other.
Quick think, who was first to accuse someone? They are at least slightly suspicious.

(OOC: Sorry guys, I fell asleep like an hour before it started then had school so yeah... Sorry, I would've posted way way more)
whoops my quotes embedded wrong there. blah

Hmm... When did you guy's find the body, was it cold yet, does ANYONE have an alibi? I assume not but that means we have to suspect everyone.
(Can we investigate at all? Or just blind guessing)
