[PLAY TIME] BULLET BALLOT MAFIA

Really? I didn't know we couldn't quote the PMs ;o;
I was just trying to clarify the rules, since it's kind of confusing right now with the contradictions
Yeah, that's been a standard rule for as long as I've played. When I went to post my response with my quote, I looked in the rules and in my PM. I just glanced at both, but I couldn't see where Libby said that sharing PM contents was forbidden. I figured if it wasn't listed, I could probably keep out of trouble if she meant to post it as a rule but forgot.
Ah, so confusing and my browser keeps crashing, third time trying to post the same thing >:(
Also i was sure MrBlue was in Cluedo!
And yup, that rule is somewhat confusing...

Is it just me or does your inner Pheonix Wright wanna scream at something you heard recently? Something that was said doesn't make sence! Objection!
There seems to be a lot of assuming with the rules - which isn't fair to newbies. lol
I saw nothing about sharing PM contents either, but I still really wanted her clarification on that.
But at least we know we have the same discrepancy now, so I can stop mulling over that detail and file it away as a dead end.

Yeah, not all of us have played Mafia before!
I need to vote but who... It's hard to know since like 50% of posts have been about rules...

Nothing reveals Humanity so well as the games it plays. A game of betrayal, where the most suspicious person is brutally murdered? How savage.

The reason why PM quoting is disallowed as a general rule is because it completely ruins the game. The point of the game is figuring out who's telling the truth, and who's lying. Obviously, if someone quotes a PM and the wording and style of that PM are the same as the PM you got, you'd immediately know they were telling the truth. Fabricating PMs is very hard.
It is usually okay to paraphrase your PMs in the game though.
As a general rule of thumb to any potential future game hosts, keep your PMs as minimalistic as possible. Put only role-centric information in them, with as little fluff text as possible. Put all game-centric information in the OP, or if you put some info in the PMs, put it in all of them. It also helps if you add an example PM of a vanilla townie to the OP.

Well, that still leaves the other 50% :)

And we just saw the reason for that.

To be fair, Libby's rules for this Mafia are a bit unconventional and not really like the past games. I don't blame you, or anyone else at all.
This was an interesting development... I don't think Libby would have different rules apply to mafia and town like that, so that was probably a dead-end line of thinking.
I'm also much less cunning than I am getting credit for. I had forgotten about the rule that essentially made voting compulsory. (I also said that I made a mistake after it was pointed out that I did.)
I think I'm going to vote for Ratty. I understand that he's about as suspicious as anyone else, but I'd also rather vote for him than anyone else so far.

However, good thinking Maki, because scum has been caught before because they misunderstood the rules and made a false claim. They didn't realize that the role they were claiming to have could not possibly exist and so I killed them as soon as I had the chance.
You guys are way too active on this thing.
Can I please have 7 hours to sleep before I get back to this? ;___;

I'd really like to get rid of LockeZ. His play style is way too unpredictable. He's always like this too. If he ran a country, he'd just kill and imprison people at random until crime stopped.

I don't know if an avatar change is enough to call him guilty. I guess it could be like changing blood-stained clothes....
Of course, I'd like to point out that the D&D forum thing has been up for a little while. It seems kinda funny that he'd go and change it now. Maybe it's coincidence....?
I actually only joined the D&D forum game a week ago because Fearful decided to suddenly abandon the game without warning, and I replaced him.

It has proven to indeed do just that. There was one game I hosted where Happy was the last remaining scum. He switched his bloodthirsty avatar for a Toon Link avatar, and won the game. After the game, the last townie confirmed his judgement was in part influenced by the friendly avatar.
I thought the point was to do it mid-game after you're already under suspicion, to "reset" how people think about you. On day one, I'm not sure what the supposed benefit would be of my changing my avatar from a character who figures out what's killing people and is always right in every argument to something else.
But to prove to you that this tactic wasn't my intention, I have changed my avatar to House holding a bloody knife. QED.
LockeZ, wut? The fact that you are fully away of what changing your avatar does to this game, not to mention the expressed need on your part raises some serious scum signals on my end.

...I just quoted two people who said it, of course I'm fucking aware of something after multiple people point it out. What the fuck kind of logic is that.

Why did you feel the need to do it, though?

...You're asking me why, after being accused of something by at least five people, I felt the need to provide a show of good faith that I wasn't doing that thing?
