It begins. How this will work: I will introduce you one by one. Order is initially determined by agility score, but from there it will depend on the actions and investigations of the person RPing at that point until all the party are added.

In a room you will be shown a map as well as given a hint as to how many points of interest are in the room. The turn counter will not start until you leave the first main room, (I will let you know) so feel free to examine all points of interest. In later areas you will have to juggle turns with examinations, but for now get a feel for the game.

You awaken in the dark. There's barely light enough to see by - you seem to be in a cell, lying on a cold straw mattress, a very thin and worn blanket covering your body. From where you lay you can make out bars, a dark shadow in the corner across from you and what looks to be a small table with a bottle on it. You feel around your neck for the wooden pendant you carry - it's still there. You kneel, knees protected by a pair of pads on them.

I get out of bed and realise how small this room is. The darkness makes it look like the walls are closing in on me and clasping onto my pendant, I try to suppress my panic.
With lingering feelings of fear and unease I:
#Inspect the bed.
The bed is made of straw and dust. Your inspection turns up nothing more than sneezes. You do hear the sound of shuffling and a cough in response to your sneeze, but it comes from beyond the cell door.

You awaken to the sound of a sneeze. It's dark, but the light of a torch spills into the room - enough to make out that you are in a cell. It is small and dank. You appear to be laying on a bed of straw, on top of a thin-bare blanket. You feel around you and find the lock of hair of your lover in your pocket, where you left it. You stand slowly, thankful for the boots you wear. In the corner across from you is a table with a bottle and what looks like some food. In the shadows you can just make out a bucket.

"Urgh... where am I...?"
*I look around and eventually get up, walk over to the bucket and pick it up, to see if anything is under it.*

The bucket is filled with stale human waste that has had time to congeal and turn into a slippery soup-like substance. Some of it slops onto your hand when you lift the bucket. Underneath it is nothing but the cracked tiles of the floor.

"Ewwww... that's disgusting, I guess I'm not the only one who has been in here though... How did they get out? Were they let out or did they break out?"

*I wipe the... stuff... of my hand and then move the bedding to see if anything is under there.*
My unease still grows, so I desperately look for a way to create an exit to this cell. I move over to the bars and:
#Inspect the jaildoor


The bedding is dusty and stinks of sweat. You rifle around in it and find only straw.

The door to the cell is locked tight. You wrangle at the bars a little to test for any weaknesses, but it seems well made and solid. There is a keyhole on the door, though... You were sure you had a lockpick on you somewhere, too.

"Nothing under the bed... hmmmm... What about the table HUH TABLE?"
*Chloe realises she's talking to a table and says nothing more*

*Chloe takes the wine and the plate of bread and cheese off the table, places it safely on the bed, then picks up and moves the table towards the jail cell doors to see if there is anything under the table.*
There is nothing on the table but the food and what appear to be scratches carved into the wood, counting something. The table itself is sturdy and almost too heavy to lift, but after moving it you find nothing where it was bar spider webs and dust.

"Urgh, nothing here either... I'm debating just screaming but that might attract attention, Wait, why am I talking to myself?"

*Chloe, almost out of ideas, has one last attempt at finding something, she attempts to rip open her not so comfy pillow to see if there is anything in it.*
There is nothing in the pillow but the broken dreams of dust bunnies.

"Nothing... welp, I guess I have to..."

*Chloe starts screaming and banging on the bars*
"HELLO!?! ANYBODY THERE!?! HELLOOOOOOOOOO!?!"
My unease partly starts turning into frustration as I still haven't found a way out of this cellar. I realise I'm currently standing next to the dark shadow I saw earlier, so I decide to:
#Inspect the shadow. (After having kicked at it out of frustration)


You bang on the bars so hard that you feel one slip, slightly, in it's position. Your yelling may have alerted enemies... or allies...

A yell jolts you awake from your restless slumber and you shiver in the chill of the air. A dull light washes through what appear to be the bars of a cell, and you can make out a small area with a bucket, table and the bed on which you rest.

Your foot lands with a wooden thunk against a (thankfully empty) bucket. It rolls around before coming to a stop near your foot. Examining the area you find something metal that was underneath it - it appears to be a lockpick!


+1 Lockpick. The thief's faithful friend. Used to unlock locks.

Lit is panicked at the arrival of his sudden surroundings, and alarmed by the calamity outside his...cell? Racking his brain to remember anything that could lead to this imprisonment, Lit comes up blank.
As a sudden precaution, he feels about his pockets for the diary page. The last remnant of his lost brother. At least the fiends who stole him away did not snatch this, his most precious momento.

After securing his place in the here and now, Lit began to poke around.

Carefully, Lit prods his meal. Peeking both under the plate for traps, and sniffing the food for freshness or hints of poison.
