If this is true – holy shit! Are you telling me that I can potentially play the original Super Mario Kart or Super Bomberman with people across the world, games that were made over twenty years ago? Holy shit, that would be awesome!
You can already do this using the power of e m u l a t o r s (it's not even hard)
There is a chance that Nintendo is going to just sell you straight up roms anyway, so why not cut out the middle man? I played through the entirely of Seiken Densetsu 3/Secret of Mana 2 using netplay a few years ago. It was a great enjoyment time.
