[MAFIA] PURGATORY: A MAFIA GAME

i dont think the modkills mattered that much. on day 2 no scum had any heat on them and town would have been mislynched if anything.
To be fair that was my read too, plus I honestly expect most scum to to put their scumpartners in the "scummy, but not my best lead" category haha.
author=pianotmYeah, I know, it's the optimal move to make because it gave town an extra suspect during the day phase. If we had nolynched again, and someone other than Muffle died, I would've been more suspicious, to be sure. Probably not enough to change anything, but withholding the nk in that scenario is not a mercy move.
Fun fact: When you nolynched, I told Cave NKing was fine. He decided not to.
e: and yeah the modkills basically just amounted to speeding things up one day, pretty much all town thought at least one them had to be scum
idk. with 5 alive even though there is also one less person to lynch, it also takes one less vote to hang someone.
that advantage would have been somewhat nullified by the fact that there was no hammer so scum can't get the quick kill when a townie misvotes
i would have just killed someone if we had no lynched again because f that. i liked the numbers at 2-4 just cause that's what they would have been without the modkills, again, so it felt the most 'fair' to everyone. this game probably needed some kind of rule as to who had to kill/lynch in that situation. IMO the onus to stop a stall on that should be on whoever didn't commit the last action (a lynch or a nightkill)
i was considering not killing again just to drag things out more but then decided to not be obnoxious (in that way)

oh also i also self-voted in protest against this game on day 1 because i was mad at piano because without the hammer+town becoming confirmed and able to speak when dead, i was convinced it was going to be impossible for me to last through this game. also me not considering the possibility of myself being nightkilled was a scumslip that i attempted to walk back
Cave indeed did the trick d1.
I got little lazy this time, not really caring about the result. We should have been more alarmed by Muffle calling both huni and aneko town without any reason.
Muffle, you did really good after first half of d1.
Cave, you outposted my suspicion. Good game, both of you.

Btw my little "tantrum" and reasoning for not wanting to vote Cave for such a dumb reason wasn't me just protecting him, it wasn't me acting as Mafia, as LockeZ said it was me talking ABOUT Mafia. I want to make this clear now that it's revealed I'm scum.
Actually I think the modkills did make a difference just because Gourd ended up dying at MYLO rather than on D2, there were like 1.5 votecounts to go off, plus we the room for error was such that town could only miss one vote without losing... and that free vote was on d1. (8/2 is like 70% scum winrate)
gourd wasn't the voteleader on day 2. cap was.
not sure about that math at all. dead confirmed town being able to speak + no hammer heavily shifts balance towards town's favor.

Nothing reveals Humanity so well as the games it plays. A game of betrayal, where the most suspicious person is brutally murdered? How savage.

I finally read Gourd correctly for once. Finally.

Also, Cave not wanting to nolynch "because it would be boring" should've been a dead giveaway, but I will never not townread Cave, so welp.
This is why Cave should not be unconfirmed at MYLO/LYLO.

LockeZ
I'd really like to get rid of LockeZ. His play style is way too unpredictable. He's always like this too. If he ran a country, he'd just kill and imprison people at random until crime stopped.

I got played like a goddamn fiddle
The only two people I thought were town were the two scum

I agreed with your reasons for thinking they were town too.

I thought I had pretty good reasoning for why Muffle would only go on that rant if she were town. Because if she were scum, she wouldn't be trying to save Cavedog, right?
Except... well. Obviously, there was a possible scenario I forgot about, where she could be scum and still want to save someone from getting lynched for a bad reason. Which is that the person she wants to save is also scum.

Now the question becomes: Did Cave really write a giant post of fake scumhunting (plausible, it wouldn't be the first time, nor the second, nor fifth.) and then accidentally delete it, or did he just fake that whole thing?

Also wait, I really did get killed for poetic justice, didn't I? Except by Muffle, not Gourd.

Nah, we just night killed you. Demon died and me and Cave decided that you'd be the least suspicious so to get you out of the way so there were more suspicious people in the field, thus making it easier to pin scum on someone else. I didn't even realize until you said something that you were last ones in last game and first ones in this, but it was very ironically hilarious.

i did accidentally delete it, though it was just two paragraphs at the time. then I started writing it up again, and though, wait, hmm, would I do this as town? I'm still not sure if I would've, the bigger reason I didn't post it is that it gave me an excuse to not talk about muffle.
