Now in all seriousness usually there is a loose theme or something about story or setting or characters but I wouldn't mind seeing a contest with gameplay themes e.g. randomness, snes rpgs (use systems inspired by our favourite snes games), puzzle dungeons etc.

Because of the fuckballs in the EU we need to do a final "End of the Open Internet" gamejam or release something, ending Dec 31st. More rips the better.
Article 13 of that dumbass link tax and upload filter goes in effect in January sometime.... unless it somehow doesn't pass. (Also the member states have to implement the laws too which takes time. But still. Between the usa FCC and the EU, RIP internet)

Kentona's kids write story treatments and we have to make a game based on one of them.
And yes, Kentona. That would be a nice middle finger to the world. A nice sendoff of a wonderful period of history.

Random idea for RpgMaker: Make a game that has 1 map with the smallest size, you have to be able to win/lose. You must use tiles and default movement. No hacking it with pictures/scripts.

I think there was a one-map challenge a long time agao at some point. That'd be fun to do again.
As for the as small as possible maps, we had that a bit more recently with the 9th birthday event where you had to make 3x3 maps.

We didn't have to do 3x3 maps for the 9th B-day bash. It was an option for the super-challenge, though.
Voted fan adaptation but I'd love to see cinematic event be a thing too.
