[MAFIA] SPY VS. MAFIA II DAY 3
Posts
author=Fomar0153author=OzzyTheOneI thought this game had items rather than roles, or are you just saying bodyguard to describe your item?
I am an agent and a bodyguard on top of that.
I was using a role to describe my item yes.
Also, the agents all have codenames and are encouraged not to reveal their identities in the agent chat. So when I die, and if there is a traitor/neutral in agent chat, it wouldn't be super easy for them to just kill the last agent.
LockeZ
I'd really like to get rid of LockeZ. His play style is way too unpredictable. He's always like this too. If he ran a country, he'd just kill and imprison people at random until crime stopped.

OK. If this game works like the previous Spy vs. Spy Mafia (and the OP says it does), then scum don't know each-other's identities. So if he's scum, then a fake claim does mean that he would have to reveal himself to the rest of scum chat, including a potential double agent. Otherwise he would get night killed.
Also, everyone in the agent chat at least has the ability to say "I'm not Ozzy." But I'm not sure those people can actually do anything about it. They would have to out themselves as agents in public in order to counter his claim. Uh, don't do that. Because a third possibility is that he's actually vanilla town who's fake claiming to draw scum's fire. So really we have no good way to know anything about his claim during a day phase. We just have to wait and see what happens tonight.
I guess I'm willing to let Ozzy off the hook for now. If he doesn't get nightkilled then he becomes much more suspicious, but we'll see what happens. Maybe there's a cop, for example.

Interesting. Everything I'm reading here certainly points to it being the same setup as the original. I don't think ozzy is lying either since it correlates to lockez knowledge of the last game. I have no idea if ozzy was in the last one or not, but if he was he could potentially be baiting scum. More than likely he actually is an agent though and it's not worth risking the vote.
Time to reread the thread and see if I can find any leads anywhere.

boy I sure do love playing "mafia" on rmn.
I just realized something terrible about this setup.
#cancel I believe the emotional outburst. anyone else want to die

I'm phone posting and only skimmed back to Ozzy's claim. Will be back in an hour or two with real internet.
Ozzy what does the bodyguard power do?

I'm going to go outside the box.

While she makes big posts, they're full of extremely hedgy fence-straddling (bad), less full of talking about mechanics (something scum tend to focus on cause they can 'play' without playing,) and she also threw shade on me for something I wasn't even trying to do (illegal and bannable offense.) The vote she does thrown down is on lurker/nonentity PA (even though she saw him doing this as town last game) but, to make it worse, he had actually started to play by the time she voted him for this reason.

also I am calling for the dayvigging of milk if they aren't "getting into things" by day 2.
Okay nevermind I read the thread anyway - Ozzy what does your item/power/etc do? and what's it called? And what are the agent codenames?
Don't have much to add other than that AE and PA look bad. Whoever was asking why AE was on my original hitlist was I usually can follow her reasoning but couldn't for the first part of the day. Still on it for trying to start a train away from Ozzy.

I actually think looking at votes this game isn't going to be useful. Now that cave mentioned the setup flaw I can't unsee it.
Psy: Would that knowledge even help us? He'd be letting scum know how it works as well, and he's basically confirmed agent at this point. If he somehow managed to fake it, he's done so extremely well and it makes no sense for scum not to lynch him tonight, especially considering he claimed bodyguard as well. If by some miracle he does live it'd be suspicious, but I don't see scum passing on what looks like confirmed agent/bodyguard.

I can tell you that my item allows me to protect someone from a nightkill and that I cannot use it on myself. It's also called a paperbag for whatever reason.
However, I will not answer your question for agent codenames, why in my right mind would I do that? Wouldn't I be ratting out my fellow agents? I'm sorry but not today friend. However, I will tell you that they are not based on colors.
So, if Ozzy's true and agent, there are two conclusion to draw from it.
Bodyguard is a suicidal role. It balances numbers quite well and 3/3 teams would make sense with such a role included. In that case there shouldn't be a traitor.
We should look at people, who voted for Ozzy or openly supported the lynch.
I kind of like Alaskan's response.
Fomar immediately used the claim to get a confirming information. That's bad but not dooming in a game like this.
Demon went with a plain cancel. I think he's back on the list of people to suspect for me.
I think Cave's ok, but there's one thing to note. He returned to his original vote, keeping number of reads he has been making rather small.

@demon: it helps us determine if his claim is legit. How are calling him a "basically confirmed agent," all he is is a claimed agent. Reasons I doubt it:
- claimed to be a bodyguard, was reminded the only role is "agent," decided he was actually a paper bag owner
- told people to not counterclaim for some reason whereas a legit agent would have agentchat to clear this play beforehand... But makes no mention of the input of the other agents
- i believe items are oneshot
@ozzy if what you're describing is accurate, then the aliases should just be that: aliases. How would stating them compromise other agents? Are they not anonymous?

For the record, the tuba randomly reveals the ID of a player with 90% accuracy, then gets passed to someone randomly. It was dropped on my lap halfway through the day. Best play should be spamming it continuously until it drops to scum, considering the winrate without is below 50 and anyone using it is unlikely to be scum
