NHL 2020 STANLEY CUP PLAYOFFS / POOL PREDICTION THREAD ~ CORONA-CHAN EDITION ~
Posts
Good job, Dallas! Way to extend the series and live for another day! (Seriously, if they blew tonight’s game and ended up losing four straight after winning the first game, I would have seriously been pi**ed off. But they didn’t. And that’s ALL that matters.)
Also, lol @ Kory’s new usertitle. (Come on, Kory, you can still brag about last year; no need to change it. You will always be champion.)

Playoff Update:
The Tampa Bay Lightning finally managed to get things done and shed their years long playoff demons as they completely shut down the Dallas Stars in 6 Games to win the franchise’s second Stanley Cup! (Their first one came in 2004 when they defeated the Calgary Flames in seven games.) Victor Hedman, for the Lightning, also managed to win the Conn Smythe Trophy for Playoff MVP, the first defencemen to win the award since Duncan Keith of the Chicago Blackhawks back in 2015!
For the final tally of points, Kentona and Kory_Toombs both happened to pick the Lightning and receive 2 Points each to end their playoffs off on a high note. Addit and UPRC don’t get to walk away completely empty handed, as they receive a Single Point each for both predicting that the series would go six. Addit gets an Additional Point because the Stars are his Stanley Cup Pick.
And with that, just like with last year with Shinan and the Boston Bruins - no one has been able to grab that Crystal Clairvoyant Award as of yet, as willing participants in the Stanley Cup Finals are now 0-2 lifetime for this prestigious achievement. (Better luck next year!)
And thus concludes the NHL 2020 Stanley Cup Playoffs!
See you next year!

Well…the dream is over; it was fun while it lasted. I guess Dallas didn’t have enough left in the tank to get it done in the end and I’m afraid I get the share the dubious distinction along with Shinan from last year as “close, but not close enough.” (…Damn it.)
It’s like after Game 1 they just couldn’t generate enough shots on net and the Lightning then took them to school. It’s like they reverted back to their regular season form where they had trouble scoring goals all season long. Either way, I somewhat knew in the back of my mind that this was going to take a herculean effort for them to beat the Lightning, so I suppose they did the best that they possibly could. Either way, this sucks…! But hey - congratulations to the Lightning for finally getting it done after all of those years in the playoffs where they would always come up just short, especially in 2015. (‘Bout time you guys done it!)
Either way, it was great to see some playoff hockey this year, especially considering that nobody got sick from the virus and that they were able to finish it with little to no problems at all. Heck - even the Canucks did well! So, all in all - this was a great run, and I can’t wait for next season to start sometime soon. (Because I’m going to get so bored with nothing else to watch on T.V..)
And as for the achievos, I’ll ask Liberty Bettman sometime in the next day or so to hand them out whenever she can to Kentona and myself, alright? She's going to be soooooo proud (and stunned) that I managed to get it done this year! ...Annnnnnd terribly disappointed about Kentona's overall performance too. (Although it may not come to her as much of such a shock as I, lol.)

Yay, the achievos have just been handed out - and they look glorious! (Thank Liberty!)
Also, Calgary, stop stealing all of our old players this offseason! First, you took away Markstrom, then Tanev, and now Louie Domingue! Stop it already, go find your own sloppy seconds!
Apparently, you weren’t quite that bad under the old, original format, as you finished in 2nd Place in back-to-back years in 2015 and 2016 before things started to go really downhill after that. You even had a last place finish in 2017! But, on the positive side, in the last two pools, you’ve been slowly catching up, going from 5th place in 2019 to 4th place overall this year, so I expect you to finish at least in the top 3 next year, in 2021. Otherwise, I’m not sure what to say.

I am remarkably bad at predicting NHL playoffs.
