MEDIA FRANCHISES WITH SURPRISING LONGEVITY

What are some of those movie, book, and TV series that have managed to last way longer than you expected?

For me I'd have to say it's the "Tremors" franchise which is currently comprised of six movies and a TV series that lasted one season on SYFY. Albeit that movie count is apparently going up since the 7th movie in the series is coming out sometimes this October. And, yes everyone's favorite paranoid right winger will be starring in the 7th installment. I almost feel like I should include a picture of Burt Gummer next to Pikachu or something.

And I suppose I'll always toss out "The Land Before Time" which is comprised of 14 movies and a cartoon that last one season. And that's not even getting into the various games that were released over the years. Though, I'll admit talking about "The Land Before Time" gets me thinking about the voice actress the originally did the voice of Ducky.
