IN SEARCH FOR A TEAM

Hello there, I'm here in search for a team to work with on my free project.
It's a funny little game about a protagonist that was thrown of a place called Demon Lord's company by his boss.
Landing into a nearby trash can, he meets a woman there named Mao who convinces him to go back and convince his boss to give him his job back.
After the adventure begins imagination is the limit.
Our party must pass through the many floors of the company.
Defeat enemies, solve puzzles, find keys and companions and overall make it to the top floor.
That's the synopsis.
I'm the writer so there are many things I lack.
I need:
- Pixel artist (Sprites)(Open)
- Pixel artist (Backgrounds) (Open)
- Composer(Open)
If you're interested please comment or contact me at my discord: nero#3104
I'm using RPG Maker MV.
Thank you for your time.

How much experience do you have making a game? What is the current state of the project? Do you have any screenshots of it, even if they use placeholder graphics?
Those queries aside, what you should do in the context of this site is submit a gamepage. Use it to tell prospective players/teammates what the game is about (your description here could use a bit of expanding on that matter), and where you are with it. Also, if you are the team leader, present the ability to handle the creation of the game in case forging a team doesn't work out, or if somebody has to drop out of the project for whatever reason.

Solid advice above.
Everyone would love a team to help them with their project, but people need more incentive and motivation to become dedicated to a project. Why would they use their free time on your project when they could create one of their own?
You might have a great game planned out in your head, but you need to *show* others why it's great. As well, many projects fall flat and people don't want to feel like their time was wasted.
If you're only skill is writing, keep in mind games involve many more skills. The fewer you bring to the table the less appealing you are to have as a project lead. Especially when you require a large team.
Honestly, if writing is your strength but game mechanics, programming and art are not within your scope, I recommend writing for other people's games instead. In fact, I have a massive project on the go which will require a pile of writing for missions, contracts and bounties. It's a unique world with lots of flexibility for creativity. If you'd like to collaborate on a project, let me know and I can tell you more about it.

Welp the project is free because it's about gaining experience and having fun, It would be fairly short as a game, I have an artist who sadly doesn't do pixel art and as for the team, it doesn't need to be big, one person for each position will do.
As for my position as a writer, that's what I do, about the mechanics of the game however, I haven't thought about yet, figured I make them up as we go since we have that many possibilities.

I don't have much experience on writing games, but this one is to experiment on, hence why it's free. It's honestly more about thinking different crazy ideas to put into the game to bring out it's comedic purpose.
As an experienced developer, I have asked people to help me on games, in the case where I had a portion of the game made, with screen shots, characters and story already set to go, in my most successful attempt I got someone to make me a town map with all the houses too. 1 town map with me offering to do everything else... (This is not counting times I have paid for work, only counting free stuff.)
So based on your premise I think you'll receive less than 1 town map.
Good luck though.
author=kory_toombsI asked for less than 1 town map for now though, to start with the opening cutscene I only need tiles for a skyscraper and a trash can. That's it.

The rest are two actor sprites and done with the prologue.
Wanna know something interesting? I don't consider myself good at anything outside of writing either. However, that has not stopped me from making...
...20. I counted 20 gamepages where I'm listed as the main developer over my ten-year tenure as a user of this site. I use the graphics that come with RPG Maker, tend to use ripped music (or stuff from Newgrounds and/or Jamendo), and I've been teaching myself how to code over the last two or three (maybe more?) years. Perhaps the majority of those games could be called mediocre in quality. However, I think the ability to say that, of those 20 gamepages, 20 are flagged as...
COMPLETE!
...relays my dedication to the ultimate objective of getting things done.
That aside, my doubts that anything will ever come from this has certainly risen. You're looking for people to work with you on this project based on... based on what? The fact that the game will be released for free may be a relevant point, but maybe not the way you intend it to be. What this tells me is that you are effectively asking people to set aside time and put forward effort for the benefit of... I'm not 100% sure. Maybe "exposure"?
I apologize if I'm coming off to harshly. I do think it's healthy to experiment. That's fine! I don't take issue with that! What I do take issue with is that you don't seem to want to put forward any effort into this project, aside what what you already know how to do. Perhaps doing things outside your comfort zone would lead to a less-than-mediocre effort, but, it would be yours, and may very well be the experience you are looking for. If it is the path of perfection that you seek, it would be but one stepping stone among many!

You have completed 20 projects congrats.
That's a great feat not gonna lie, however what I'm trying to do is nothing this big.
I just doing this for fun, just a little game that let's us developers of it have a little fun coming up with ideas about characters, mechanics, gameplay and story.
I don't understand how writing funny dialog can be a reason for exposure.
In the end, I do this to prove nothing to no one, just for us and the players to have a good time.
If you want to build a team, you should follow Marrend's great advice: use existing graphics and musics to build a first game and show your ability to commit to a game project.
I only completed one successful team game and here are the key elements I believe made recruiting a team possible:
* I had some experience making games using existing resources: I had one playable game and a working prototype of a second one.
* Every team member knew at the start of the project how much time it would take to complete (It was a 1 month event)
* I committed to the project as a leader on top of my programming contribution: handling communication in the team, integrating every contribution in the project, giving a good balance of direction and freedom to the team, listening to everyone's ideas and doing extra work to cover unassigned tasks.

It's fine if you're doing this just for fun, but, that's not a reason for other people to join the project. A good reason why people might want to join the project is because they are interested in said project. As mentioned, submitting a gamepage would probably help in that regard. You wanna know another good reason why people might want to join the project? I think you already know, or suspect, what I'm going to type, but, allow me to reiterate one more time: it's because you, as team leader can

As I said earlier, I will never use existing assets if I don't need to, It's like writing a story that already exists, If I can make something original that will be my priority. In the end, as I mentioned, I'm not doing this to show what a great game writer I can be.
If I wanted that, I could always join someone else's free project to show what I can do.
The reason I haven't been posting is because I would pretty much be automatically mean on this. Clearly, your skull's too thick for polite reasoning to get through so a sledgehammer needs to be applied. Enjoy.
You admit that this is a practice game and YOU WANT A FREAKING TEAM!?!?!?!? Dude. You've never made a game. I don't know you. I'm not wasting my time making graphics and music for something that's never going to see the light of day. I'm not asking why I should. I'm telling you, I'm not going to waste my time.
If you're up here asking people to do everything for you, Artists and Composers (I see you edited Programmer out), you aren't practicing anything. You also aren't paying anything. Protip: if you want people to join your team and do stuff for free, have something in your bag of tricks that's actually worth their time. Actually, you're so early, you don't even have a bag of tricks, yet. Look above me. You see Marrend, Irog, and jpratt? They're being very nice and supportive and you're arguing with them. They don't have to be. They didn't even have to answer you. I would have just ignored this thread too if not for them, but they're saying "no", and instead of taking advice, you're arguing and writing stuff like this:
Wow. What do you even think "practice" is? I imagine you sipping wine in your housecoat while writing this. You take stuff and you use it and you make stuff with it. When you have actually developed one or more skills, you can be unique and original, whatever the hell those even are. In fact, when you've got a couple of games made, you can even ask for a free team and actually get one.
I'm sorry for being mean, I'm not usually, but clearly nothing else is getting through, and I'm getting sick of seeing this thread.
TL;DR Make your own "original" practice game. We've got our own stuff to do.
TL;DR of the TL;DR Nobody cares.

Why the insistence on not using preexisting resources, though? Is it so absolutely 108% necessary for this project to use original assets? That's what I don't understand for a game that is supposedly being made "just for fun", and why I keep saying what I'm saying.
*Edit: I'm very much inclined to lock this thread. For my own part, I've done everything I can think of to help, and I don't see this thread progressing in a positive manner.
*Edit2: Aaaaaaaaaand I think piano's post may have changed my mind from "maybe I should" to "I definitely should".

For the scale of this game, If I wanted to practice and do all the work such as art, I wouldn't ask for help since I wouldn't need any.
Honestly one person would be enough for each position and depending on the skill, One person can even fill both positions for background and sprites.
That makes two people in total needed.
