My digital camera is on the fritz, and I just recently relocated, so I haven't been to the gym in a while either. My life has kinda been in a rut lately! I'm glad someone remembers this topic though, feel free with before and afters.
I never understood this mentality. Are you a closet gay? :-*
Too many males on the forums for me to want to put a shirtless picture of myself on here.

Well, that sounds sort of silly to me. Haven't you ever been in a gym locker room, a sports team, or even on the beach or at the pool? I mean, it even sounds homophobic! Who cares if a guy is attracted to you?
I weighed myself yesterday and I'm tipping in at 200lbs. All those burgers finally paid off, too bad my legs are weak as shit.
I really do think that the best way to get in shape is to have a job where you actually do physical work. I always debate going treeplanting again because when I came back the first time I was in the best shape I had ever been in, but the work was just so intense I probably aged about three years in two months.

Do squats.
but i'm just so lazy. :(
I'm having a frustrating problem.
I've been working out on and off (mostly on) since November. I swear I was 160 lbs at one point. Then I dropped down to 150 lbs according to my own weight scale. At a friend's house yesterday, the scale had the audacity to say I was 146 lbs. What!?
I've been eating breakfast, lunch, snacks, and at least two dinners per night (usually all pretty healthy and protein-rich foods)... and working out 3 times a week for 2, 2.5 hours. But w/e, I look as buff as ever so I guess it doesn't really matter. Just kind of weird that my weight always yo-yos in ridiculous amounts.
I'm doing squats tonight actually. My weekend leg&shoulder workout is the one workout I don't look forward to just because working legs is so comprehensive and intense. But at the same time it's very important to me because it really bugs me how guys only focus on their upper bodies and end up with dinky little chicken legs and it's like "... well what's this?" Just looks silly.
I'm worried that I'm doing doing my squats as well as I could be. Should I be dipping my bum a bit below the horizontal plane (?) of my thighs? I think that works m'glutes better.

I'm 6'2" and overweight, for my build (or so my doctor) says I'm 100 lbs overweight.
(297) It's not that I'm lazy, but for the fact that when I was younger I took an allergy medication called Zyrtac which destroyed my metabolism (which isn't good when your 4, and I'm not blaming it all on the meds, because I am a heavy eater)
But I do play Pickleball of Flickerball everyday for 20-40 minutes, and I lift weights on the weekends with my uncle.
I currently bench 180 and can leg-lift 240-320 depending on the weather.

I've stayed the same weight, which is good. Exercise and beer canceling each other out.
Hoping to jog more this week.

Am I going to get "warned" or w/e for necroposting here? Well w/e, this topic is important.. I am willing to put myself in great jeopardy for this cause. FOR FREEDOM!
What are good calf workouts? My gym has the calf press. I'm not THAT big of a fan of it. I've been going on a horizontal leg press machine, but use it for calves by rolling onto the pads on my feet near the toes (not sure what part of the foot you should be pressing against the machine with) and flexing. It really annoys me how guys tend to neglect their calves, so that is why I seek beefy ones. I have to say, they're coming along pretty nicely. Still would appreciate more diversity in my exercises, though. I also just stand on one foot and do the same rolling action to flex the calves.
Also, how does one turn a 6 pack into an 8 pack? I thought it might be controversial to have an 8 pack. I'm not having much luck finding an answer using "Google".

Mmmm correct me if I'm wrong but instead of squatting with the weight you have on, go on your tippy toes and back down slowly. Or stand on a ledge of something with your heels hanging off and dip down on your feet. Pretty much anything involving bending ankles to lift your body weight.
EDIT: I guess I've made progress
Bench: 190 (Need to bench more)
Clean: 200
Squat: 230

I don't have much of a program- free weights for about 70 minutes twice a week, with running or biking for 20-30 minutes every other day (unless for some reason my legs feel especially tired from the day before!)
Good info...useful for someone like me trying to get the model body back after WoW made me gain weight, lol...

I recently realized that I was marching for 2 hours straight before feeling tired or sweating so now I gotta march fast in place to get the same workout I used to. I don't like it when my exercise schedule takes up more then 2 hours. I like to do my marches in an hour tops and spend the rest of the time using the weights.
Marching is a very good way to build leg muscle. It's also a cardio workout as well. I replaced squats with marching in fact because squats made my knees feel weird.
I also march while watching TV or playing games. It kind of builds up your multi-tasking skills and unlike squats you can do other things while marching because your only moving your legs rather then moving your whole body frame. You could eat or drink while marching.
But my main workout is fighting and using weights. I do so while wearing armor. Right now I am up to two full suits of plate mail that add about 140 pounds across my body. My friend and I spar on Tuesdays and Thursdays. We get official training between those two days from a guy who has been doing it for 44 years. We actually buy this service from him with drinks. Home made good stuff like Sailors Delight, Orcs Blood, and Apple Pie liquor. All spawned from my own testing. I also do wines that can get you drunk faster then standard beer but tastes like fruit juice.
EDIT: Drinks are a good way to make friends and get services from highly skilled people who don't have a business front. Food also works.
