Well if your looking at it from a Dragon Ball fanpoint. Then this is probably not going to be that good. I know movies aren't excatly the same, but alot of movies atleast follow canon.
1) Goku would not be a young adult. If this is the first Piccolo which i believe it is. He would be a child still when he faces Piccolo.
2) Goku had been training under Master Roshi for a long time before he even met Piccolo. The first time Goku ever heard of any enemies under Piccolo was after the World martial Arts tournament where he lost to Tien.
3) Goku would have met Bulma and the others, it would have included Tien and even Krillian for a while since he gets killed shortly after the beginning of the Piccolo Arc.
There are also a few others not that I cannot think of right now.
From a movie standpoint it seems that it''ll be a campy version of Dragon Ball.

I've never been a fan of the series (AT ALL), but it's too bad this is such a waste of talent. Some of the fight scenes actually look pretty neat; but unfortunately it'll end up being an effort in vain with such a profoundly ridiculous plot.
Wasn't it a guy like Piccolo who made the Dragonballs and not Monks at some temple. I've never been into the series but from what Ive read and like a few episodes Ive seen this looks and plays out nothing like it's counterpart?

I love Dragon ball/Z/GT, I know almost everything about. And Im soo upset that they would ruin the story like this.
