Playing Star Ocean for the SNES. This game is so much fun, that's it's unreal. I definitely like it better than Tales of Phantasia, which I just can NOT seem to get in to for some reason.

That game was pretty amazing for sure! I got near the end but the final dungeon I couldn't leave and the random monsters became super difficult to beat, PLUS leveling takes foreeeever by then so it became a massive grindfest just to continue so I stopped playing. Maybe someday I'll go back!
Parents gone - check
Dog gone - check
Sister gone - check
Awful, dark weather outside - check
No likely interruptions - check
Looks like today I'm finally replaying Flower again :)
Otherwise still playing LoL, MW2, and Avernum 5, waiting for PSN store to come back online so I can get my InFamous. Hurry Sony :D
EDIT: Well, this time around Flower took me only around an hour to finish, but boy, was that hour well spent.

Oh man, you are going to hate GF summons if your processor isn't up to scratch.

Ah, I have not hit the battles yet, so my processer is in luck for now, that and I have been too busy watching 1980s COPS IN SOVIET UNION. It is Interesting....
FFVIII is probably the game i had the worst time emulating. i can't remember why i was doing it either, i own the thing!
as an aside, I still had a computer with a cyrix processor when we bought final fantasy VII for the pc.
I don't know how I slogged through the game like I did - While prettier on the pc than on the console, it was slower occasionally, and crashed often (especially when fighting hades...)
Eventually we got a new computer, a pentium, and it's a good thing we did because apparently Final Fantasy VII melted Cyrix processors after a while.
Anyway, back on topic, I can't STAND trying to emulate PSX games. I always feel like there's some little thing that doesn't get emulated properly and it ruins the whole experience for me. As such, I'm pretty happy that my PSP can finally play the PSX games I turn into eboots now. Otherwise, if that doesn't work, I can grab my old playstation out of the depths of the abyss, since it has a mod chip. I don't like to do that though, I like owning games I play.

So GF summons work fine. I'm relieved a bit, but I can not believe somebody other then me bought the ff7 for pc. Wow, that was a buggy mess, and now they refuse to fix up they're own retro ware and make it into a main selling item, , jezz. Oh, I never owned a psx nor have I owned a console since the atari 2600 so the 3d off of FF8 is really neat.
Shogun 2, now it's finally downloaded itself >.>
I'm actually participating in battles, though sometimes I prefer just to auto-battle 'cause it means that the enemy unit will actually be completely wiped out in the event of a victory. That and I generally suck as a battlefield commander in Total War games...
Oh, and I'm playing through the Conquest mode of DW7, now that I've beaten the story campaign. Though I'm not using any seals beyond Skill Points, Walking Speed and Congeniality, to make it more difficult.

Currently none since I am in the middle of moving, but prior to packing and such I was playing DiRT 3 which has turned out to be a pretty great game. I'll definitely be playing it a fair amount again when the move is complete.
author=HexatonaMy friend bought FFVII for the PC and he, too, had a Cyrix processor. It didn't even run FFVII!

So he came over to my house and we ran it on my computer, which WAS a pentium, but a Pentium 75, which was way lower than the minimum 133mhz requirement for the game. When we played it, the game ran at about half-speed. You know that 10 min countdown escape at the start of the game? It took us 20 mins to do and we still had time left on the countdown.
Good times.
I had the same situation. The game was slow, fucked with all my MIDIs, and it would consistantly crash when escaping from the North Creater. The only fix I found was to copy all the movies to my HD which didn't have enough room to copy all of the movies because of just how many of them there were.
Eventually I got a PS1 and FF7 and beat the game then.

Oh yeah, some years later I borrowed the FFVII disks from him (he put them in the case for the Blade Runner game). I still have them, even though I haven't spoken to him in about 6 years and he lives in a different province now.
One day I'll return it.
In the meantime, I should try playing it again!
Also also, I am such a hypocrite. I totally unlocked all the classes (except Armamentalist because the requirements are retarded) in DQIX. I current am in the final area with a Minstrel, Martial Artist, Ranger and Sage.
