Shadar is one of the few RM* villains that is actually kind of cool.

Not to inflate Max's ego too much, but Det. Wilks is far more memorable.
I have to say you have picked one of the least memorable characters from my games, as opposed to Mask "himself" (hehehe), or Alphus or especially Dr. Cross from the Iron Gaia series. But I do appreciate being thought of in this department.
Also I thought the Time Dragon was a pretty cool villain, but no one but Craze even remembers that game.

EDIT for CONTENT: As far as best ones I've ever played, out of the short list of non-Legion stuff I actually have played, I've gotta say I have a soft spot for Dragon Destiny by Rast for some reason. Also pretty high up there are Exit Fate and Last Scenario.
I rather liked Forgotten Majesty, Jay's Journey, Heroes Realm, Clouded Heart, TtHW, Romancing Walker, A Home Far Away, Sunset over Imdahl, Pirates, Wings of Time, Love and War, Ara Fell, War of Two Worlds and TSGE: Re-duh!.
Of course there are others, but those ones are stand out ones for me that are either nostalgic or really good, story/character-wise.
War of Two Worlds is a particular fave as it's very long, complete but not heard of much. In fact, I don't think I've heard anyone mention it for a long time despite it being a great game.

Hey, can you tell me what that was all about? I remember a topic about Eversnow on GW like 43 years ago. Wasn't it a fangame or something? Did they ever finish it??? Was it good??????????

That really is the only thing I can do! If I got rid of all the Pokemon and called it Man vs. Beast or something like that, people would have no problem with it. Phooey and pshaw!
In all seriousness, though, I try not to let this bother me. If a game with a title this despisable is to succeed, I'm just going to have to keep improving until it succeeds by its own merit. Until then...I'll be browsing topics like this one.

I haven't played The Way, A Blurred Line or A Frozen World, which I believe are the most popular-I don't know why, I just haven't bothered (and I'm fussy). I should probably give them a go one day.
-Ascendence: Blew me away. The attention to detail, atmosphere and brilliant prologue. I almost died when the demo ended. I just litterally, almost stopped living.
-Philosopher's Stone: Worth playing for sure. If you haven't played it give it a whirl, especially the newer version because Fautso(?) kinda gets a personality. The characters are terrible and theres too many useless ones, the basic plot however I don't mind. I like it simply because it's fun.
-Cyber Factor: Play. this. game. It really sucked me in. I had so much fun with it, it's the first RM game I've seen with a silent protaginist too.
-Forever's End: I couldn't put this game down for ages. For all it's faults it's really enjoyable. There's nothing brand new or spectacular about it, it just feels solid. I don't know what to say about it, it's my type of game.

I just noticed that I forgot to mention both WILDCARD AND IRON GAIA
very good runner-ups for my list. The former one only contested in terms of VERY COOL standard RTP-goodness by (also very good) KRARIE STORM and DARKENERGY. The latter one is because Iron Gaia is plain awesome and we all lovelegion max.

Fun fact, since I see someone mentioned Legion Saga. About once a year, someone asks me if I made Legion Saga, or just assumes that I did.
