I honestly wish I could capture more of the Sage Mountain, but even the editor won't allow for
a full screenshot.

Nice use of the RTP, bro.

Been slacking off this for a few weeks. Meant to look like a soft pastel effect, inspired by games like Tales of and Atelier.

this looks great.
@East: I would recommend making the player more agile.. or rather, be able to move faster. That seems awful slow, and might become pretty frustrating for players.
Here's a tileset I begun working last night, it's still a WIP, it was (very) inspired by final fantasy 6, I don't know if I'll make a game out of it, for now I'm just enjoying making the tileset.

Hey, that looks pretty good. Hm. I am not sure if this will make it look any better, though maybe you can dim down the grass a bit? Though that might make it blend in with the trees.
Yeah, the grass definitely has way too much contrast. It kind of hurts the eyes.

That does look awesome. But I have to agree with the rest about the grass, other than that I can't see much wrong with it.
Cray, that is amazing. I agree with toning down the grass a bit, but other than that, it looks brilliant!
Thanks for the comments guys, I'll try to reduce the contrast a bit on the grass. :)
I'm glad you like it!
For those who still care about Lost king, I begun working on it (once again), it's pretty impressive how fast things go when I decide to work 100% on it. here are a few new screens of the new are, the Colisseum.

and a mini boss fight inside it.

I KNOW I promised myself not to go back and fix things, because that's why I never get any new stuff done, I keep remaking stuff and fixing it all the time, but now that I found some ways to make battles more fun, I think I'll edit some of them (mainly boss battles) to be more than just button mashing contests.
BTW I know the graphics aren't the best around, but I made them more than 3 years ago, and I want to go on making the game itself for now.
Oh YES. I was going to ask you about Lost King, I loved that game (demo). Maybe you should make a gamepage for it here on RMN?

Btw, I remember how, back when you released a demo, marvelled at the cool battles and whatnot. I stil think it looks great and has a special "look". simply brilliant, good job Cray.

*Tear drops down* I'm not gonna say anything constructive, just that.. I WANT THIS GAME!!
I've always wondered how an Eyeball for a monster is supposed to be dangerous. Are they supposed to make you feel insecure by staring at you throughout the battle?
@Cray >> Both those screens look excellent!
Might I ask what the orange/red/yellow background is for? Is it to represent the end of the map or does it have another purpose?

Just another one of my overlayed screenshots. It's not that dark in game!
Thanks guys! You can't imagine how proud I get when I hear that people actually remember that short demo I released YEARS ago!
Maybe I should make a gamepage for it, I'll look into that.
I have around 4 hours of gameplay for now, and I think I have 2/3 of the game complete or so, but I still have lots of stuff to do.
And well, eyeballs are... stare-y?
Nickad, I love the feel of that screenshot, so dark and gloomy, how did you get such a vibrant yellow with that screen tone? are those pictures?
Yeah, they're pictures :). An overlay actually. No screen tinting what-so-ever :P. Though, I need to do a little more work on it and put a little more emphasis on the glow around them. They're hardly visible :(.
Also, you still haven't told me what that orange/red/yellow background is at the top of that screenshot :).
Ah I forgot, you can't really tell by the screenshot alone, but it's suppposed to be a sunset sky, as a panorama, that screenshot was taken in the middle of a screen pan, buty it's more obvious when you play the game itself :)

Ah, I see. I thought it was just something to symbolize the end of the map :P.
Continue on the good work :).
Last screens for a while, sorry to spam so much of them, but I'm finnaly getting to the interesting parts in my game, the parts that I wanted to do when I first started with it, years ago. This is an important boss fight, you fight against the demon of the moon, Lune. He's one of the 3 demons that follow you for most of the game, and after a while he joins your party. You fight on top of the colisseum, which explains the background.

This is on of your Summons, Hippocampus (which was the boss of the underwater temple, from where i showed some screens some months ago)

This is one of the boss skills, Full Moon Strike. (making animations is FUN)

And another powerful skill, Eclipse fall.

That's it for now, I don't want to bore you with too many screenshots :3

Too many screenshots is a good thing! At least in this thread.
I never of Lost King before but it is looking to be very interesting to me now.
