RELEASE SOMETHING! DAY VIII: JOURNEY OF THE CURSED KING [DISCUSSION]
Posts
Every time I make an attempt at trying to upload my completed game on to the site my internet just goes...poot. It like...makes an attempt for about 3 minutes and gives me the slightest sliveer of hope that it's actually GOING TO WORK...and it doesn't. Bah. So yeah. I explained that when I posted up my Game Page and download link.
Well, I'm happy with the amount of feedback my release has garnered, how about y'all?
Now that I have some free time, onwards to Hellion!

Hey I don't know what to play (excluding V&V and DOAD since I have played them before) but I plucked two games out of here and these are my thoughts.
Neo Lescia
This game must have no sound effects. It feels very empty without them. The intro was weird and then I entered the factory and realized this game had no battles. I mean, I don't know why you would introduce puzzles before introducing the actual game mechanics unless this was a puzzle game, it feels very weird. So yeah, after I passed the first puzzle I closed this. The puzzles were boring too (ugh conveyor belts). This was like the equivalent of stripping exploration and battles in a traditional RPG dungeon and just leaving the puzzles. What you get is something that is not very fun. It's a pretty looking game, though.
Blink
There is some really slow intro text. The word tomorrow was spelled wrong. Um, that's all there was to the game. There were some maps and some more text in picture form. You should really make it so you can speed up the process of examining things. I was in the bedroom when I finally gained control of my character and examining things took forever (slow picture speed, no option of pressing enter to speed it up). I don't know what happens after this because I accidentally climbed back into the bed and the game was over. Never tried again.
I guess I'll try some games that have battles now.

Uh, I sure hope that everyone's games/releases get the chance to be accepted by the site before the RS Release thread is locked. I don't want to announce anything until my demo is accepted.
I've successfully completed my demo but my gamepage has been pending all day. Only 2 hrs remaining for this, I would like to upload and submit.
Oh. I've a qustion to ask: Is there also going to be a Podcast of this "Release Something!" day like there was for a majority of the others? I think it'd be interesting, as it'd be somethign to listen to for a good 20~ minutes. Just curious.
Also, doesn't look like very many people have gotten around to releasing their games yet. =/

I've submitted a review for Arcanion, don't expect something pleasant.
I didn't get a chance to fix a lot of things on the game, so I will be expecting the worse. :P

I would be happy with even a, "ur game sux fag" at this point, but it seems to have not only gone completely under the radar, but burrowed a tunnel to do it!
The demo for Blink has been approved! Be sure to check it out.
Also, I would like to make note that to end the demo, just return to the bedside (I should have added an option whether to actually end the demo or not. Sorry about that Neophyte :( ).
Also, that is all there is to the demo. Just a singular room :(.
I haven't tried any releases yet, as I am quite busy with other priorities right now. I'll be sure to check them out and offer feedback soon (perhaps in a couple of weeks or so). Everything released looks great :).

Since the first day I put up my project I haven't gotten much feedback. I wouldn't even care if someone said "thiz game sux fag", kind of like clyve. :P
I started playing DOAD, but I just can't get the hang of those battles. I always die in the tutorial. Can someone explain when to do what or just tell me their strategy or something? Pretty please?
Well, one thing about DOAD is don't ever get hit as some actually give you status effects, (I'M LOOKING AT YOU DEATH COUNT!). Hold C and when 100% charged you get to release a stronger attack, S should use final spell, X for grazing, immunity in short from hits, and hold X to run. I think Z is defend.
