ANIME - YOUR GUILTY PLEASURE
Posts
My guilty pleasure anime is probably Shikabane Hime.
It definitely wasn't a perfect show, but some of the character designs were pretty cool (the Traitor Monk's hand magic in particular) and some of the plotting was surprisingly unconventional. Its ending in particular was very interesting in that it tried to present a thematic statement rather than finishing off the bad guys. In some ways the ending exceeded the reach of the show but it was still probably the only way they could have satisfyingly ended it, considering what is revealed in the show's endgame.
Also the Balloon Guy is probably one of the coolest villains ever.

Hmm that's funny because when I watched it with my gf she hated it too despite liking the series. I don't know, usually I do not fall for things like "verygood graphics!!" or "verygood animation!!" but I think that movie has a very interesting feel and look and gives me a sort of romantic vibe??
The series is a lot more romantic, though, and....light. The movie was very dark in comparison, and I don't think it really fit, even if it is an alternate universe.
post=101088Stop being me.post=101086Same with me. Too much filler. And being that I was like 11 years old and was still able to pick up on that, was really sad.
No, I didn't like DBZ and never really watched it :/
All my friends loved it though.
I loved the original Dragonball when I was a kid, though. It had its fair share of filler too, but it definitely kept me coming back every week.

I think most people knew that it was mostly filler, just that nobody cared. Frankly I wouldn't watch an anime if it was 100% fight scenes.
Oddly enough, I don't watch much anime anymore cause I don't like going to look for new interesting ones.
My favorites, though, include:
Bleach
Death Note
DBZ (go ahead and murder me, if you so desire)
Great Teacher Onizuka
BECK
To be honest, my main attraction toward anime has always been the art style. I just love it. It's the only kinda of animation and art style I like the look of; I even draw it, as I'm sure many of you know.
