SCREENSHOT SESAME STREET (40TH ANNIVERSARY EDITION)

@Darken - Ha ha ha. Its what I had to work with durin' the rippin' process, the only alternative is to photoshop it to something else other than purple.
I guess I'll stick to the old design. I may use it for a different area or something, thanks ya'll. Still open for more feedback. :D
EDIT: DAMN IT! GOTTA GET A SCREEN!

Been workin' on da Arena. I wish I could figure out how to flawlessly make those bush type tilesets easily and stuff... >_>;

post=117456Exactly what I was thinking.[tardis][/tardis]
@J-Man >> I like it. Though, I'm so used to seeing shadows used with those chipsets (that is why I think those trees standing on their own look a little strange).

I would try replacing the orange/yellow with blue/light blue, or maybe even forest green/green. I don't think the warm colors fit.
post=117253
I love the warm colors and they fit perfectly, but lose the gradient. Keep it a medium orange.
post=117256
don't lose the gradient - but dither it instead - and change the colours to blues
post=117278
The Warm colors are way too loud. I'm fine with the gradient, but you should choose cooler colors. The background isn't suppose to be the main focus of the menu, it's the items.
Initially it's green background (like it a bit more actually),

but since the system menu is white-blackgrey-yellow; It fits more with yellow background (I think).
See:

Also, dithering.... hmm, that's a good idea there. I might try that out.
post=117472
@s_w: your green lined background is making that crazy grey dot illusion...
Yeah, but don't worry, there will be another menu box on the right so the background shouldn't stand out too much (and strain the players' eyes).
post=117451i was already tweaking the LOCOMOTIVE right after i posted that :) it's an access gangway so workmen are a given. as for the tracks i worked out a compromise with divisions between the track panels:
@rockmen: the repeating tile on the leftern train is pretty obvious; it doesn't look bad but a little bit of variation'd be nice, yeah? Are there people on those lighter grey walkways below? Workmen perhaps? That'd be a really nice touch! Also, the sleepers could have wood paneling but it'd be hard to match the style to the dark, dark metal of the rest of the train. What's that? Consider it... a challenge... heh heh

edit: fff i'm doing it again. always have to be tweaking.
Reminds me of that Dungeon Crawler the Puyo Puyo series is based on.
I think you should raise the box where the player is located so that it's level with the top of the box of the enemy.
Better yet, try raising both boxes up, so that there are more bricks shown at the bottom than there is at the top. Right now it always feels like I have to look down in order to see the information.

@rickman: I like it. I don't know as much about trains as you do (no shame there), but do rail ties line up so well? I know it's pretty obviously CAREFULLY planned by the city putting together, but... It looks the way it is, that is just a question!
Also, I want to see some custom train cars now. When you said sleepers originally I thought you meant sleeping cars, which are what we call the big cars with cabins here and also everywhere in the world!
I feel like the supports could use some cross sections or something along those lines. They look a bit stilty right now. Keeping the steam opaque is a nice touch. What are these trains powered by?

post=117665yes, measurements are standardised in several countries (just take a look at some photos)

What are these trains powered by?do you want me to explain to you the inner workings of a steam locomotive or do you want to know what fuel is used
post=117603How could you know Madou Monogatari? Actually, I'm trying to clone the engine, and thanks for your advice!

@WolfCoder: I'm doing my best, but I can't get her done properly. :( Gimme sum time.

Updated it. Starring Ephiam and me this time, just for testing purposes :P
@geodad: Sorry I didn't mean the individual ties, I meant the larger metal ones. They look a bit like piece connectors in a train set. Those ones! I know regular ties are standardized. Also, I was curious about the fuel. I know how steam engines work (more or less!). I don't see a fuel car or anything, is all. I AM LOOKING FOR ANSWERS.
Needless to say I am excited and you can feel free to bombard this topic with graphical updates.
