FAMITSU SCORES FINAL FANTASY XIII

CloseFinal Fantasy XIII has scored 39 out of 40 in its review in Japanese gaming magazine Famitsu, widely regarded as the largest Japanese gaming publication.
The score of 39 puts it above Final Fantasy XI, IX, and VII - all of which scored 38. Final Fantasy VI and VIII scored 37.
The game will therefore score the same as Final Fantasy X - 39 - but less than Final Fantasy XII's impressive perfect 40 in 2006.
Famitsu reviews games out of 40, with each game tackled by a team of four different reviewers. The missing point can be blamed on "a story that stays linear until the midway point" and "lack of gimmicks during the middle of the game."
On the flip side, the reviewers also comment that "the story is substantial like no FF before it" and "battles based around changing characters' roles are fresh and highly strategic."
The reivew also warns fans that FF13 is a must play. "You'll be sorry if you don't play this!", one reviewer concludes.

I wasn't that keen on FF13, and I'm still not, but I'll get it anyways, or my geeky friends will give me the evil eye.

It's on xbox 360 as well although versus and agito are only coming out on the PS3.
Not than I'm not going to purchase and love FFXIII with all my heart, but Famitsu stopped being a relevant source for great reviews a long time ago when they started handing out 35+ like candy.

Not than I'm not going to purchase and love FFXIII with all my heart, but Famitsu stopped being a relevant source for great reviews a long time ago when they started handing out 35+ like candy.
Yeah...I feel like be bit of a grumpy old man for saying it, but if Famitsu gave FF12 a full score, i really dont think i can trust it.
Not that im not looking forward to 13. Ill probably get it when its a bit cheaper though.

Good, for a second there, I was worried I wasn't going to get to play it.
I'm not going to lie, I'm looking forward to it. My first instinct is to be all cynical and like "IT'S PROBABLY GOING TO BE ANOTHER DISAPPOINTING INSTALLMENT" like about half of modern gamers do with about 99% of games, but I figure if I'm going to have that attitude about most video games nowadays I should probably just drop the hobby altogether and start spending the 300-400 bucks that goes towards systems and the 50-60 bucks that goes towards games towards something I'm not constantly saying sucks, and I feel that more and more cynical ass gamers nowadays should start seriously considering that.
I'm not saying that anyone who ISN'T looking forward to say, FFXIII falls into the category, but personally I don't see anything about it that seems like it'll suck. Video games take too much time and money to not have SOME idealism towards them.
