I'm confused. I have no idea what could possibly be up with that head (except that it's still big) and I'm supposed to be able to draw. ):
you don't have to be able to draw to notice off things about a picture....
i think he means the skull is a bit wrong, it's a bit too oblong. not that it's all that noticeable though...mostly a good job :)

I was actually talking about how everyone sees something wrong with Leon's face. I don't see it, but if there is - why nitpick when there's a perfectly big head to comment on?

This is why I commented on facial features. Probably could have gotten a bit more detailed in there but the skull is so large that it gives the illusion that the face is looking down.
Ok, I see what you mean. That helps a lot, I remember a while ago when Arc did the same thing with a number of my drawings. I've improved a lot since then and ironed out a lot of my major errors but big skulls are still one of my biggest issues. At one stage I started drawing my base circle and then as I finished the head I'd shrink the circle to a much more realistic size. I've started doing that again lately and I've found it's helping. I haven't drawn a lot lately because I'm on a writing kick, but I do have something I drew.
With the notes you made on facial compression this'll be the last picture I draw without it, but I still like some of the details anyway.

This drawing is much better for the skull actually. Just be careful of the back of the skull, as It expands a bit past the ear in most of these poses and I was kind of lazy with doing that in my sketches above. (It could be in this drawing, I can't really tell with the hair, it's just something people easily miss.)
But otherwise, definitely improved.

Did I ever mention that Levi's full name is 'Leviathan'?
And he REALLY hates being called by that name or being referenced to it?
Time to have something extremely experimental.

W.I.P, btw.

i like that, his pose looks really good! nice job :)
the only thing i'd say, is he looks sort of 2d. i'm not sure if it's the way youve made the lines thicker on the right hand side(this makes it look like he has a shadow on paper) or because he hasn't been fully shaded in...but i suppose it's a w.i.p so try work on that :)

I see your point. Hopefully it'll turn out ok once I put in all the shadows. So far I've just done the hair/face. I usually do all the flat colours, then take the colouring in chunks. Next to colour is his arms, then the browns, then the blues, so on and so forth.
...does anyone else shade like this or do they shade one part at a time?

I just realized I rather enjoy drawing in monotone.
Blame Nessiah for making me depressed and wanting to draw this :V

...But I did use a reference for this image D:. I couldn't get Kyer/Rinoa right so I looked at her original artwork from FF8.
(I was using the larger version, however)
And I shouldn't have shaded the lips so heavily, but sometimes I go overboard ^_^'
Impressive! I thought this was actual game artwork till I read the post.
post=114718I prefer evil Alice, don't you?
EDIT:
And colour!
I'm always a sucker for a hot evil Alice :D. Very nice. I can't draw anymore so I can't offer any critique advice at the time ^_^
@Montifere:
@Tau Thank you, she did turn out well but she doesn't mirror all that great D:
And I love my tablet, the best $160 I ever spent. It's gotten the more use than I ever thought possible. They're a worthy investment.

I haven't drawn anything properly in a week because I hate drawing at my Mum's and I usually lose the images unless they're in my sketchbook, so I'll post a faceset that I drew for CC.
And the size it appears at in-game:
post=119437The second small one is from FF8. The first one is mine. Thanks for the comment on Alice ^_^.

Was drawn in the same style as Alice. Well...intended. Mirrors horribly. (But so does Alice).
Also, one of the pages from Cosplay Crisis: School Yard Vol.3: We're Going to Need Some Disinfectant.
(Yes, these comics have horrible titles. The first is 'Distress of Umbrellas and Milkshakes')

That is looking a lot better. Neck's a weird, though.

If you stalk the image names, yes, 5TH REDRAW. I AM NEVER SATISFIED.
(I redraw Levi more often than I redraw the main character, Kumo, because I can never get his look correct. *sigh*)
