Quite nice and peaceful, I am very much enjoying this (I am listening to it as I post). Can I ask, what program do you use for your music? Also, do you do midi's as well? Also, for either midi or mp3's, do you actually play the music via keyboard etc?
Thank you for the positive feedback guys. I am extremely proud of this one!
I use Cakewalk Sonar for sequencing and songwriting. I also have Fruityloops, which I use occassionally if I get a job for some cheesy techno or something. I also run Fruityloops as a vst inside of Sonar if I want to access some of its synths -- Sytrus is very nice for example.
The major sample libraries I use are Garrittan Personal Orchestra (I used to use this exclusively), EastWest Symphonic Orchesta Gold (I want to get the extension but it is expensive), EastWest Symphonic Choirs (overall this was a collossal waste of a lot of money), and Storm Drum (I haven't used it much yet but it seems like it's very good for the price). EastWest's sample libraries are extremely expensive but they are excellent. Garrittan's libraries are not as good but are extremely affordable (they are the cheapest high-end sample libraries out there). Pirating these high-end sample libraries is possible but extremely difficult if you cannot afford them; it costs about $2000 to get a good arsenal of quality sample libraries.
I almost never render to .midi format. When I am composing, however, I am actually writing a .midi file and that is how I save my music. What you hear in the recording is a .midi file being played through a series of high-end sample libraries.
I usually play every single part with my keyboard. I will usually correct mistakes and quantize by editing the performance, but I think that it's important to play each part (as opposed to sequencing everything) so that it isn't too "perfect". I have a few keyboards, but my primary keyboard is an M-Audio Keystation Pro 88. I really recommend it if you get into working with music on a computer with a keyboard, because it's one of the best MIDI controllers on the market and is pretty affordable considering its featureset.

EWQLSO Gold is pretty rad. I still use many of the solo instruments from GPO over it, though. EWQL Colossus is actually extremely good and has pretty much every instrument you could want, you should check that out next time you're looking to expand your sample library.
WOW! Simply amazing. I listened to it and variations of your soundtrack and I REAALY like it. I will be listenting to future stuff of yours and when I start devolupment on my game I might ask permission to use this on my own game.

I honestly wish I had musical talent.
Actually, I'd settle for a sense of rhythm and/or timing.
Both come completely with practice and are not awarded to a person when they are born. If you're looking for a sense of rhythm, music games are a good place to start. I recall that you're a big fan of Rock Band, so maybe you're on the right track?
What did you think of my music, by the way? <3
Oh, I loved it of course!
Even better than the last ones of yours that I listened to.
(Rock Band pwns my ass)

Nice work, very calming. :) My only critique would be that it feels like it lacks a sense of progression a bit, but that's no biggie for BGMs. Quite relaxing to listen to, I enjoyed it!

Since I composed this for fun and nothing else, I could really care less if you use it or not! I'd recommend you check my site again if you ever leach it though because I'll assuredly revise it (there are some serious problems with the orchestration).
Just so you guys know that generally applies to anything I write. If I wrote it for some freeware homebrew game, I don't really care if you use it as long as it's clearly mentioned during the opening of the game or whatever that my music is used. If you're going to steal anyone's music, I'd be flattered if it were mine <3
This excepts things like the Dragoon Legends OST where the soundtrack is available for download but the game hasn't been released. It would be silly if I wrote music for a specific project and someone else leeched it!
