COMMENT NOTICES REMOVED
Posts
As some of you have noticed, the site is no longer generating notices for comments. Not sure about you guys, but I had about 14 pages worth of unread notices that were mostly comments.
I am currently thinking out better ways to keep people connected to game updates. I feel how it is now, without comments, gives people adequate information on the actual game, but not necessarily the chatter going on with it.
Ideas on the matter would be most helpful.

I liked the chatter. It encouraged participation and use of the site features.
However, a cool feature would be an Latest Updates page on the gameprofiles, and a spot on the RMN homepage that shows Latest Comments site-wide

The chatter still exists. The site is just not constantly nagging at you about it.

I didn't find it nagging at all... In fact, I find this more of an annoyance and a step backward at most.
Wow, yet another community-liked and well-used feature cut because it annoys the great and powerful WIP.
Why am I not shocked?

I liked the comments notifications :(
Because a lot of times I get notifications with games I thought were dead or forgot ._.;
maybe this is just me though...I mean, you can always unsub if you don't like the chatter and bookmark the page or something ahahah D=

My view is if you are annoyed by the chatter in a game, unsub yourself since you probably aren't as interested in the game as you'd thought you'd be.
...but if you still want a way to keep tabs on a game, implement something like a Favorites list.

He won't implement a toggle though, because he personally is annoyed by it and what's best for him is best for all of us, OBVIOUSLY.
I am generally amiable to this idea of the user being able to select what they get notices for, blog posts, reviews, screenshots, comments, etc. I do not have any idea how feasible such a feature would be, however.
I suppose now isn't a good time to mention I have never subscribed to any game.

You should remove comments from images until a better alternative to notifying subscribers is found. Without being notified of comments there is no sane way of seeing comments on screenshots. At least if they're disabled users won't post comments hoping that the game dev will actually notice it

I originally subscribed to a few games before, but after WIP's situation happened to me too, I un-subscribed from all of them so now I only get notifications that actually cater specifically to my stuff.
Yeah, uh, I really liked comments. It kept me in the loop, encouraged conversation, and it let me know what was going on so I could jump into conversations that interested me. I don't like this decision at all. If anything, there should be an OPTION whether or not you want to be notified of comments.
Will game developers still be notified about comments on their own games? Most people probably aren't annoyed about being notified for every comment their own game(s) receive, and with so many places that a game can be commented on, going through everything would take too long.
Yeah, I agree with Feld. I really don't like this decision. The option to pick what notifications we get would be a great idea. Or just keeping it the way it was. Those notifications kept me in the loop.

^That's important to me as well. I like responding to comments and questions on my own game, at least, in a very timely manner. Getting wind of a comment three weeks after it was posted is very inconvenient, and the alternative, scouring every screenshot/blog post/page of my gamepage every day or every other day on the alert for new comments is even worse.
