COMMENT NOTICES REMOVED
Posts
So now what do I do with my eighty subscribes?

^That's important to me as well. I like responding to comments and questions on my own game, at least, in a very timely manner. Getting wind of a comment three weeks after it was posted is very inconvenient, and the alternative, scouring every screenshot/blog post/page of my gamepage every day or every other day on the alert for new comments is even worse.
We are slowly reverting back into RMN 2....
I don't understand what everyone's complaining about. Human feedback is irrelevant.
All glory to the Code, and its Architect WIP, for he knows all.

Man I don't even check my notices very often but I agree this is kind of a dumb choice unless WIP is actually planning some on/off option.
This bums me out, as well. I'm not a big player here, just a guy putting out a game he worked hard on, and I like to see when people have something to say about it. When I get a notice, I always love seeing what folks have to say about it, be it positive or negative.
Seems like this is an unpopular decision all around, though.

Note that this isn't gone forever.
Maybe you could group up comments into a single entry. That way everyone is notified but an active discussion doesn't flood everyone's notice pages. "Night of Marian blog entry has 14 new comments" Instead of listing 14 entries. Sort of a simplified Facebook I guess is what I'm suggesting.
Would like them returned as an option (or NOT an option even.) I loved the feature.
I could decide what to look at before, but now I don't have that option anymore.
@WIP: But it's gone right now, after we had it, and we don't know what we're getting back or when.

post=126560That is a good idea! But FB notifications give updates on each comment... So I think that would be kind of like threads, where each thread has a "New" but you don't get extra "New"s for multiple posts, just one "New" for any new posts since you last checked it, and it is bumped to the top whenever it is posted in. (or commented in this case)

It's not like I got a notice when games went from Production to Completed other than by gaining notes like 'X posted a comment on Befuddle Quest 4 goes live!', so I'm unsure what subscribing is supposed to be useful for now.
Maybe I'm missing something here.

post=126560Actually, it would be really cool if you could do something similar to this WIP.

So wait, now how am I to know if someone comments on my game? Do I keep going back and checking EVERYDAY to see if theres something new? C'mon man...

This is what he said he was doing.
I totally agree with this decision. I don't think the feature worked out as planned. If you are subscribed to a game that gets a lot of comments like Hero's Realm the traffic can become quickly overwhelming. It generates a lot of unnecessary clutter (imagine getting a notice every time someone responded to a topic you posted in). Perhaps there will be ways to fine tune it in the future, but for now I consider it an annoyance.
However, I would hope that the developer's can still opt-in to receive comment notifications as it helps them keep tabs on their game page, especially ones that don't receive a lot of comments and thus may be unmonitored otherwise.

Yeah, I think that's a good idea so far, considering that WIP of course will fine tune it to the specifications of the site itself. I like receiving notifications of comments of games I subscribed to, or conversations that I wish to follow. I hope in the future the feature will be less obtrusive, but still fundamentally present.
I think it would be cool if I could subscribe to things like articles and get notifications about new comments on them.
Some articles (especially lately) have generated a lot of discussion and it'd be handy to know when the discussion had continued.

I'm not actually going to do that. EDIT: This was to what chaos said about the aggregate comments.
Also, just chill out a bit people. Jeez.
