SO HOW ABOUT THAT HEALTH CARE REFORM?

EDIT:
How can you have religious objections to medical insurance coverage? I guess it's like gambling...?
money-lending is outlawed by the good book. CAPITALISM IS THE SPAWN OF SATAN
I'm no bible expert and don't even really identify myself as a Christian but I think that story (if we are indeed thinking of the same one) is not about capitalism being evil so much Jesus being pissed off that people were taking up office in a temple and using it to exchange foreign currency with the aim of making it easier for the state to capitalize on worshippers for financial gain
I feel that the cost of education is incredibly inflated in the USA and that the practical value of one (in terms of what you learn, beyond the career opportunities having the receipt in your hand opens up) is going right down the crapper not just in K12 but in several fields of higher education (see: computer science, arts) and would be really interested in reading some well thought-out cases for free school reform. Google is coming up pretty dry.
post=130422public schools are free to attend yes but they still require money to run (I know you know this, just clarifying what I meant :p) also I was more referring to the state of higher education, K-12 education is a whole other can of worms that shares some of the same problems but is pretty uniquely fucked up thanks to new phenomena in standardized testing and years of counterproductive tradition (this was at least the case in my home state). I mentioned both because I'm not really sure which Free School Reform specifically refers to :x
Isn't school "free" until you leave high-school in America?
School cost way to much, and they wonder why us inner city kids have a low college attendance rate. Please don't say anything about financial aids because them dudes make you jump threw hoops covered in fire with a bed sheet of sonic spikes underneath. And that's just to get free books.
post=130585Of course! And I can show you to those hoops!
Free books in college? Where can I found some of those magical flaming bedsheet hoops?
...but today is not that day.
Please don't say anything about financial aids because them dudes make you jump threw hoops covered in fire with a bed sheet of sonic spikes underneath.if you consider filling out a 30 minute online app and supplying tax return information to be this bad then you will be capital F Fucked in college anyway
only bitch part of applying for financial aid was getting all this parental information because I was under 25 at the time and therefore "financially dependent" on my parents despite not living with them or receiving financial support from them for several years, and then still having their income count against my eligibility for need-based aid (as well as my declared ethnicity -- fucking awesome). The only consolation I got was them readily admitting how asinine the policies are. "Thanks guys, how about we try running it again with 'Juan' for my dad's first name instead of 'John'?"
