CloseI found this patch recently on a rpg maker website. The site claimed it was an official update. It is an official update and it works fine with no major problems. I found myself asking what it improves or fixes since there was no READ ME file and no one seemed to know what it actually did. After extensive testing I found that the only thing that the patch fixed was the font errors. Example being, some letters were to close to each other and all the periods under MS GOTHIC were 2 pixels long causing them to look weird. This patch fixes that, by updating the font and replacing it with a new one.
As I recall, the update made .mp3 music work a lot better.
I can't recall any of the other changes offhand though. Maybe the enter hero name thing was fixed too.

Have you heard? Enterbrain is making a new maker called RPG Maker XP and they're going to officially translate it into English!

It's somewhat ironic that you can still say this today to people still using RM2k3.
