I would say the results were inconclusive and you would need at least three or four boobquake days (as well as a couple "dress as modestly as you can"-days. Essentially I don't think boobquake reach the amount of people it should have. Perhaps if it was done more in the height summer where a lot of people dress like that anyway and then with the added "boobquake" bonus we could se some better results.

I don't really have any problem with any ethnic group, because none of them are born with any particular religion. So I don't know where this comment is coming from. But yes I am equally opposed to most if not all organized religions, regardless of what culture generated them.

Yeah, epic failure as far as what? There WERE, weirdly enough, quite a few earthquakes.
There are earthquakes every single day - over a hundred, in fact - and the 6.something earthquake in Taiwan is within a range expected to occur every three days, give or take. You just don't always hear about them since they don't always hit parts of the world that Western civilization cares about.
In fact, the amount of earthquakes yesterday was slightly under the mean for the past two months. Angry deities didn't seem to do anything yesterday!
I'm sorry I don't know the daily spread of earthquakes at the top of my head, although I'm grateful for the correction. Thanks, Craze for the logical explanation which I acknowledge and understand, and not being an ass like the poster after you suggested.
Um, no? I was hardly calling Craze an ass - he wasn't even the only person I was referring to. The whole scenario's ridiculous, from the cleric being an idiot to this pointless event to the people going "earthquakes happen every day your argument is invalid" (when no one is arguing). We know the earthquake in Taiwan could not possibly be down to the Boobquake. Why does it need to be justified?

But you know what? Boobquake was originally intended to be a humorous exercise in scientific and skeptical thinking - that we should test claims people make, especially when they're ridiculous. And what could be a better way to do that than to question the methods of boobquake itself? That's why science is such a wonderful tool for investigation - research must not only go through rigorous peer review, but it also must be able to be overturned in light of new data. I think it's awesome reading all the scientific flaws people keep noticing - feel free to keep pointing them out!
I'm pretty sure our results aren't going to change Sedighi's mind. People tend to find any way possible to justify their superstitious beliefs, no matter how illogical. I'm sure the next time a big quake hits we'll get a "See? Told you so!" even if the event wasn't statistically significant - he didn't care about science before, and he probably won't now. Even if he says that, I think boobquake succeeded. We exposed these beliefs for their ridiculous nature, encouraged people to think skeptically, and of course, had some fun.

Even if they are relatively inoffensive nowadays, to me many of them are tainted forever for the atrocities they've been involved in in the past.
this is as easily applied to nationality as it is to religion because
none of them are born with any particular religiondoes not widely work in practice even if it does in theory and is mostly a blinkered western view! it is a sad state of affairs that you would use the sins of the past from which to base your judgement of people in the present.
