CloseI just figured that this would fit in this category: I used RPG Maker XP, voiceacting and copyright free music to make a three part "movie"!
It's a bit of a shameless plug since I'm quite proud of it (although the first few minutes were slower than I'd like) and want more people to see my creation. There's not exactly any forums for this particular thing since it's not a game, I more used the program to create cutscenes.
Anyway, check it out. It's cleverish, it's funish, if nothing else you can laugh at the voiceacting. :)

The voice acting is really ridiculously bad till the point it's laughable. I can't really tell if it's intentional or not, though.

This is disgustingly horrible, but crosses over into "so bad it's good" territory. You should be ashamed, and it's horrible, but I must watch the second half. I'm laughing at you, not with you, though.

I'm wondering if this is the sort of response OP is expecting? I honestly have no interest in this.

You know, it's not supposed to be a mainstream, high-budget actual MOVIE. It's a special I made for my 1000 subscriber special. The intended audience are people who'd watch an abridged show. That seems to somehow... go over your heads. Or under your heads I should say since I'm not trying to be "above" you.
The voice acting is bad, I know. But I'm not a voiceactor. Plus, the emotions in the voices are there, which is the heart of voiceacting so even if my voices sound the same you should cut me some slack. x.x
Please don't take this as me being unable to take critizism or being whiny, I'm merely defending what I made. You're all seemingly watching it with the wrong mindset.

Wrong mindset? I'm pretty sure most of the people here are just... saying how they react to it (too brutally I think). It really does seem you are being whiny when you are coming up with excuses and expect everyone (who are not subscribed to your channel or are in your intended audience) to adjust accordingly.
Though I think people in this topic are being a little too harsh.

It's not really whinyness, this is more like I drew an amateur comic strip and a room full of famous art critics are telling me how bad my painting skills are. x.x Like I said, defending something and making up excuses are two different things. If I just sat there and took it then who would I be, hm?

There is nothing wrong with the audience taking such an approach.
The best way for the creator to deal with a situation like this is to take what's been said and respond to it properly rather than bluntly say that we're "doin' it wrong". You may say you're simply defending, but regardless of your intent, what you're doing right now is looking to bordering on whining given the surrounding circumstances.
Another problem might be that you simply chose the wrong audience to approach. In all my years of lurking around the RM community, I've never known it to like amateur voice acting in general (and for good reason).

Ok, I know what you mean but I still have to say that I'm not being "whiny". x.x I'm just saying, I know the voice acting is bad, it's not supposed to be good. It's a joke. It's just a funny little thing. The videos aren't even about the quality, it's about the humour.
So you're telling me that the audience won't know what mindset the creator intended but that's why I made it to be, you know... funny. That's how you specify the mindset in a thing. Maybe I should've started it off with a joke.
But regardless, it's not "amateur voice acting", I didn't even intend on having voices at all because I have a horrible accent. And I don't see how explaining this stuff is "whiny", for crying out loud. x.x

This is the greatest thing I've ever seen.
I congratulate you on your creativity sir. Voice acting is harder that it.. sounds. Seeing this is a first attempt I assume it's not exactly a really serious attempt. But you can see the work you put into it so props for that.

I watched all three parts all the way through and I liked it. It's like an episode of Scooby Doo, written by CollegeHumor.com (or possibly 4chan), and voice-acted by the original Resident Evil team. Ultimately being pretty funny. I liked the dude with the broken English, and the cat girl the best.

Well people have been saying it's "so bad it's good" so I guess you got what you wanted? But IMO comedy to me does not equal making everything horrible, anyone can do that. It's about timing and creativity. Imagine if your voice acting was actually good? I'm pretty sure your script or w/e would shine out more.

I didn't just make everything horrible, I put actual jokes in there. Did you watch it? If you didn't found it funny then that's fine but don't say I didn't try. Ok this last one counts as whining. You get kind of protective of something you've put effort into, you know?

The writing is actually pretty competent. I'd wager he has a better handle on writing plausible dialogue than what the majority around here do - which is doubly bad considering English is apparently a second language for him. Most RM devs are heavily influenced by Japanese media, and tend to write dialogue as if it was translated from Japanese.
The voice acting is bad, but he did make a legitimate effort to do it well. I'd wager since he's completely aware he isn't Mel Blanc, the reason it has voice acting at all is simply to keep viewers from having to read a video.
If you guys are not going to give his stuff a fair shake, don't ride his ass pretending you're offering sage advice from your magic towers of ignorance. You guys are usually better than this.
