Which screen resolution are you using Suzu? Also did you try reinstalling VX?

And it is still nice regardless :)

I don't know the resolution of VX. One day I started it up, and it all came up that big. I don't know how to find out the screen resolution, either.

^////////^ Glad you like it.

...another question would be, if I reinstall it, would I have to pay for it again? I mean, Asa was nice to put VX on BOTH our computers at $60 a pop.
hmm in windows, to find (and change) screen resolution, gop to the desktop, right click on the wallpaper area then click "properties" - then go to configurations and there you find screen resolution, try higher numbers and see what happens :)

Hope this helps, otherwise try reinstallation of VX...

I had it on the highest numbers available, but I found out that I had the window sizes on medium and that's what made everything so much bigger.

OMG THANK YOU, CLEST!!!! :D

I have been confused about this for ages. That made it just big enough to fit. I think at one point I must have made the thing bigger because I'm farsighted and it was hard to read some things. I'll just zoom on my internet now~

If you need help with ANYTHING, man, tell me! I will be more than happy to help you if I can!
Glad I could be of help really :)

And I will take on your offer when I need something, for now just go on with the project :D
I'm writing at 3,500 words a day, not a lot more I can say about my project. Oh, except the artist backed out on me and now I'm back to artist hunting... ugh.

Yes, sir! ^_______^
Glad you got everything sorted Suzu =)

Been doing some spriting this morning for one the areas in the game.
This is what I have so far, though I need to add stairs, a bridge, indents in the wall for snack shops and some tracks.

Alright, so I've decided to break the barrier and start working on RMVX to see how it feels like. Hopefully, I can make good progress with script editing/making and the awkward map engine it provides...

As for Tranquil Nights, I haven't given up yet! So expect a playable demo soon.

(My main characters haven't been made yet... sorry!)
A sudden switch to VX eh? Wonder if any recent topics prompted that? *Looks at Craze* =P

I'm really interested to see how this turns out, you might be able to change my mind about VX
I have VX but I just finished using a trial version of XP and really liked it. I'm gonna have to save some money. After using XP sprites I'm just disappointed with VX's. But it is easier to map in VX.

Anyways, I'm using a face generator online for my character faces. I can't draw worth a wazoo. When I make a gamepage (probably a few weeks), I'll post those too.
Well yesterday I was setting up monsters all afternoon. I want to get those buggers out of the way. I hate making monsters over all, I find it to be one of the most boring parts of the whole shindig. Except bosses. I LOVE making bosses, muhahaha. But not every mook can be a boss.

I wanna have a monster that's much like the Dragon Quest series' slime that will kinda become the defacto mascot for the whole thing... as the project is called Angel's Food Cake, it'll most likely be an angel of some sort. Why? I dunno. FF has their chocobos and cactuars and tonberries, etc. Dragon Quest has slimes and drackys and other awesome monsters people instantly recognize with their series, too... I wanna have that one monster that people go "OMG! That's from ! I remember that thing!" I wonder what Akira Toriyama thinks when he overhears people say that?

I have Twiggy... it's a walking twig with eyes and two leaves... -______- It's not impressive at all.

The character pages are made in the database. I should make skills soon. Because it makes little sense - now that I think about it - to make monsters that have no skills...

I feel your pain :) I put in as many bosses as will fit the storyline, and sometimes some random ones too. I just love making monsters in general though, but bosses and Final bosses are my favs :) I'm proud of the one(s) I came up with for my game so far, but it's not many...
Bosses are awesome to make, but you still have to try and make your regular enemies varied, interesting and challenging without making them too deadly or too easy. Very tricky to balance.

Here's a map I've been working on today.

That is looking sweet, Sam. Although, the horizontal (train track?) is oddly flat looking at the top.
Is that one train making a sharp L-turn? I've been trying to figure it out? The map looks cool Sam. It just doesn't feel quite right when looking at it for the first time.
The stairs and the walkway are pretty awesome though.
@Lennon: I think the bridge isn't helping it. Considering moving the stairs on that side so it has a more angled look to see if is just the bridge makign the track look off.

@Irili: They're two seperate tracks. I just figured they'd slope into and out of the station, like in some areas of London's Underground - which is hard to show in 2D.
One other thing: I think it's a bit strange that you can see the stairs that go "away" from you. Being that everything else is in a 3/4 perspective, you shouldn't be able to see those.
Makes more sense now. I also think the stairs are doing weird things to my depth perception. I'm pretty sure I know where the stairs go up and down but I hate making assumptions. I'm too often wrong.
Sam: I understand that we can only see the roof of the vertical train, however the horizontal one, according to the tileset angle, should have the side appearing.

Suzu: Makes less random battles but make those kinda like mini bosses. More fun for you and for the player :)
My main character is Darrel Johnson a 26 year old slacker without a care in the world, constantly late to work, always out partying with friends, he never takes anything seriously in life. He as the the last human on earth must uncover the truth behind the disappearance of everyone.

Srry I haven't posted since week 1, I've been preoccupied setting and configuring the scripts for the game. I should have some screenshots in the next week or so though.
