Hey guys, sorry this is a day late. Got home from work last night and a good friend quickly turned up to talk about some stuff he's going through and we ended up chatting til quite late and I've had work again today.

So yeah, four weeks in. Can you believe it's going so quickly? You know the drill ^^;

What are we suppose to do? The last week kind of had a prompt, sorta >_<
Seeing as we met our hero last time, how about introducing your villain(s)?
I can't reveal any of the actual antagonists, since they would all be giant spoilers. However, I can reveal some other stuff.

During the game, a lot of conflicts will be centered around the organization Dead Hand. It is a largely mysterious terrorist group, who seem to have something against the larger countries of the world. They make their first attack in three years at the start of the game, targeting two reactors, one in Garocha and one in Areccia.
Yeah! (Been looking foreword to this prompt)
Ok... there are a lot of different threats that the characters learn about on different scales. They start out thinking that the only threat are the Imperials and their army of knights and mages from a different world. As the characters seek to destroy the Imperials(and recover Alexa's memories) they uncover that the Imperials are lead by three different warlords, Maindem, Feario, and Limbias who all pose as one person, the powerful and feared Lord of Lightning. As the heroes seek to destroy these three men, they uncover that all is not as it seems as more and more mysteries are uncovered it appears as if these three men cannot have set up the invasion of this world on their own! Long story short, the major villain is none other than
(DON'T READ THIS UNLESS YOU WANT A HUGE SPOILER!!!)

The evil enchantress Morgan le Fay who has been controlling these men to invade this world so she may have an army capable of toppling Camelot

That pretty much sums it up, sorry I'm a bit wordy :)
Tales of Arcadia has three villains, each one part of Nimrod's corrupted military and political views. The main villain, Vitus, is commander of Nimrod's armed forces, making him a deadly enemy. And he has a personal motive to destroy Arcadia. Other villains include: Mysterious tyrant, Loras, and Tarland.

Vitus has been responsible for two major wars, including a civil riot within Nimrod. He has extreme political views and uses any means necessary to achieve what he wants, for the good of Nimrod or not. Vitus, given his command, often uses violence and torture.
The villains are teenage bullies. If the costumes you pick in the game don't total up to a high enough IF (intimidation factor) then they will steal candy from you and beat you up a little.
However, if you had a high enough IF, then bullies won't bother you at all.

More or less similar situation, and worse, in my actual project the organization is not uncovered, what you have is a mysterious woman with dark green hair coordinating a large terrorist attack on the moon base the game is set on.

There are however two key bad ppl she manipulates once she and her soldiers manage to overtake the base:

Victor Marif - The base commander who was actually quite annoyed to be posted on command of sucj a remote base and is convinced by the mysterious woman that if he don´t resist her and cooperate offering his base, resources and troops he will have the knoledge and power to stray safely from theroyal control and have a nice life once the terrorists break the whole governing system.

Ladea Barlaon - The research partner of the protagonist who always envied her for her outstanding abilities. Ladea has always been rather popular but her family raised her with a mindset of being number one on what she does, anything below that is failure. She tagged along Elizabeth to observe her and try to surpass her, but kept "failing" and in her last failure, during the terrorist attack, was captured along with her test prototype mech, however instead of being imprisoned, she was convinced by our mysterious villain lady to fight her former companions and finally upstage Elizabeth. While not ruthless, she feels that is the best way to succeed in life and bring honor to her family.

Hm. I don't really have an antagonist in my game, to be honest - besides the world of Bit Bonton itself dying.

What is the reason for it dying? Is there any conscious effort to kill it or is it a sort of natural selection thing?

It was abandoned by the person that created it.
In my game, a newly elected government have decided to pull their country out of the cesspool it's found itself in by making major cuts to all welfare benefits, sending a strong message that for too long people have avoided getting jobs because they can live more comfortably on welfare. They've also made cuts to public services, including schools and hospitals.

The nation is divided into two. One the one hand, you have those who feel they've worked hard to earn their money, and they're glad their taxes won't pay for jobless slackers. They simply state that if you want anything in this world you have to work for it and hail it as a new era. When quizzed about the damage to the public education and health services, they simply state that if things get that bad they can always go private.

On the other, you have those who feel that vital monetary lifelines for certain people are being unfairly and cruelly taken away, sparking rage in the lower classes. There is also some unsettlement from those who work low end jobs, who feel they do earn their money but aren't considering important or pretigous enough to have their free education and healthcare they've been entitled to for years.

Riots start to break out as civil unrest peaks, businessmen, government officials, company directors and anyone with a high wage start being attacked and even murdered by the lower classes out of sheer anger. Most of the uprisings are being caused by a single group, rebels parading themselves as a political party. At the head of this party is Dean Wells.

At the beginning of the game your orders are clear "These uprisings and killings began with Dean Wells, they shall die with Dean Wells."

As it turns out later in the game, Dean Wells is simply using the economy as a convenient excuse and has wanted to destabilize the government for years after he discovered they were secretly doing experiments with transgenics. Transgenics is a very real process where scientists take a particular cell from one species and implant it into a young female of another, so that when the female gives birth the child carries that gene permanently. This has been a tool wielded by science fiction writers, and in this story the government have been doing human trials for quite some time. Dean Wells morally disagrees with this and wishes to put an end to it.
Funny story: My laptop is a little more than fried right now. I can't even turn it on.

I have no clue if I'll be able to participate for the time being. If I can't fix it, the earliest I can get a new one is by May freaking 26th. Not in a very good mood right now.
I've got my maps done for the most part. I've got to finish the eventing for trick or treating. I also need to set up the variables for stats (they'll be invisible). Once I've got that done I'll probably clean it up and make a demo for testing.
There is no villain in my game. There is an organization with evil intentions but they are a side story that gets the player started on his journey. Rather, the actual culprit here is your decisions. The game will play like a sherlock holmes mystery where you uncover clues about some ancient civilization, and try to build up enough energy (for your time travel pod) to teleport to their time and place to get an understanding about some big picture about everything. It may sound vague, but I don't want to unveil anything just yet.

Oh wait.. Now I understand what this game drive is...

@Sam: Does your game *have* to be new or can I work hard on my current project and release a demo/complete game in the 6 months time? Because I'm really finding this as a motivator.
I think I should be able to make something smaller than NL, if anything for the Game Drive. I can get a hold of a laptop for about 2 hours a day, and I was already planning to do something small alongside NL for fun. I'll have some news on what I'm doing next week, anyways.

EDIT: Since I have access to another laptop, and a good backup of NL, I can get things back on track pretty quickly.
There is no true villain in the game just the loneliness and fear Darrel feels in the game as he makes is slow descent into madness. Since the only things besides him are the monsters the world is the villain in a way.
@Radnen: So long as you produce a game at the end I'm willing to look over it =P
