THE SCREENSHOT TOPIC RETURNS

@yuna21 Wow man. makoto's right, you're getting way better at drawing. I love Darcy's playful look. By the way, is that bald guy guarding a "hit this trigger with the hammer as hard as you can" machine? (I'm not sure how else to describe it, sadly.)
Sometimes I don't know why I make games.

I really like this battler pack.

Looks like Ethan's missing a bit of his hat lol... poor dude I wonder how they cut it off so straight it's like, absolute horizontal hat cutting

He's also missing one of his icons and I can't figure out why. It's only when certain other, seemingly unrelated windows are open and... hdfjahluiewgeyrgadfasdfahdsgfays. Egdha jaiydhgahbfr jhfhdghfagsdhfgakj.

@makoto: I didn't draw it. They're Fire Emblem edits. XD
@Cash: Yeah, it's a Test 'o Strength' meter. Easy way to get some money by button mashing.

@yuna: Maybe you meant to have Ira say, "I only have to prove myself to you because you're simply too arrogant to believe that a woman can do a 'man's job'." I dunno. The way you have the sentence transition, it just doesn't flow naturally.

Makoto, the combination of being zoomed out and being in the event view that shows the grid makes it almost impossible to see what it looks like. Looks probably really bare though and I think you might be making ridiculously shaped carpets
I hear ya, but I did not want to give away the maze. But it is fleshed out and the carpets, it is a dark lords abode :). I am getting ready to resubmit my game profile hopefully ill make it this time and thanks to everyone for the help :).
also I just finished the first area and was wanting to post it up. It is by no means completed, the dialog needs work but I did spend ten straight hours figuring out how the conditional branch and other things work to make for a pretty unique random encounter system with there own small story pieces. But the story is what I am focusing on last for now anyways. I am just trying to get the mechanics worked out first. I am doing a play through then I am going to resubmit. (Sorry i am realllly excited to see what everyone thinks so far.)
LockeZ
I'd really like to get rid of LockeZ. His play style is way too unpredictable. He's always like this too. If he ran a country, he'd just kill and imprison people at random until crime stopped.

If you didn't understand what I meant by the carpets, I will need to see it first to be sure, but from your awful screenshot it looked like you just bucket filled the rooms with carpet. Carpets come in square and oval shapes, not room fitting shapes.
Refusing to share stuff on the forums because you're worried about spoilers is ultra ridiculous btw. We are here to help you improve the game, we're not players.

Sorry for this blur it's the engine I'm testing my graphics which is currently in development (will get rid of that effect eventually)
Enemies and heroes are animated.
I have a question for you guys without giving too much away:
If this would be the graphic style of some run time package: would you prefer it over the Ace or XP RTP and use it to create your own games? Do you think other people would use it?

I am sorry I did not mean to offend, but you have to admit everyone plays rpgs once in awhile :). But i will take better screen shots and post them for you I did post one up close of the ruin dungeon as I said, I used the red carpet to give a more vampirey type feel, but I used purple carpets as actual carpet (mayyybeee a bit to much :). But I am using the basic rtp minus the small edits here and there :)
heres the close ups

Hell yes.
@makato12345678: Sheer size (why so big?), carpets (why all over the place?) and thrones (why so many?) aside, I'm a bit confused about the event placement. Are those objects searchable?
Wow, some really top-notch retro mapping there! ;D You definitely have a great command of those tiles. The first map in particular is gorgeous.
Is this even a question?!? All the stuff I've seen from you so far is incredible. I think people would jump at the chance to use it, especially considering the lack of VX/Ace options.

@Marrend
Well I was trying for a vampirey type of feel. like you just walked into an extravagant and maybe a little bit distasteful mansion. But it is three floors down inside an ancient ruin. The map is so big because it is a side quest/side dungeon.
And out of all those events, only some are clickable the others are the encounters. When triggered the skeletons jump up and run after you. It took me like 3 hours just to accomplish that lol. Then another 9 hours to flesh it out and to add the mob of enemies, also I had to figer out how to change them back to skeletons on the floor once defeated. Where they where defeated at and not where they were before the got up :). Plus come up with (I thought they sounded kind of authentic) swords and skills. Like the skill Nogatsu Tenki, the description I have for it at this moment is "Have you ever seen a ninja duel?
almost the same but more effective." (I know writing and grammar is my weakest suit so I am going to work on that part after I get every thing fleshed out. There is also there are no random battles on the field map or in dungeons (at least not the typical random encounters). The field maps have people and Oni popping out at you with a story all there own. I was going for a more realistic view for this part with the smaller story's. They still need to be fleshed out but you will get quests from encounters and sometimes new allies. Currently most of my effort was focused on the first realm The Land of Water. I would release that as the full game but it still feels to short to me. I want to at least get through The Land of Fire and maybe half way through the Land of Air. The last huge map The Land of Earth is a loose representation of....Earth :P. So when you do get there you will start out in Syn Nichi Province but eventually through out your journey, you will travel all over the world meeting kind friends and creating a family. But there are also evil people who will pretend to be kind just to get to you so you gotta be careful I am still tweaking the balance system in the battles. They are not perfect yet but I am working on that. And that is my plan on where to take this. I want to make it as epic as possible :). oh and how do you use the spoiler tag? lol

@nemojbatkastle Wow, that's just... brilliant. Nothing to say.
edit: Okay, maybe this part looks a little weird.

@makoto: Doesn't look nearly as boring as I thought now that I can see it. The use of different floor tiles is probably good enough to make up for the lack of furniture, though I still think it's weird for a building to have rooms with no furniture.
Try to get the rugs to be realistic shapes of rugs that people might have, rugs don't wind around corners like that. The border on almost every rug should be a rectangle, since the fact that there's a border around them means they are throw rugs, not a carpeted floor like a modern house would have.
