when did you get good...?

I sold my soul to Nessiah~ completely worth it.

And I'll drop the lighting effect. It was in place to reflect that the moon's out, but I think the tint does the job well enough.
The Deep - a deep dark series of tunnels that extend into the underworld below the country of Selicia. It is inhabited by many creatures and considered very dangerous. Most people who use the tunnels try not to go too deep in fear of it being the last shortcut they ever take. The tunnels come out all over the country and can be used as shortcuts but the increasing costs of patrolling them and keeping them clear of monsters caused the Regency to drop the patrols and now they are too dangerous once more.

Too dark?

Better?
Better imo. Part of the light at the bottom of the screen looks a little weird. I like how you're cutting the light source when needed, but it has the side effect of coming off a tad blocky.
LockeZ
I'd really like to get rid of LockeZ. His play style is way too unpredictable. He's always like this too. If he ran a country, he'd just kill and imprison people at random until crime stopped.

Both are extremely dark, I will say. If one is supposed to be brighter than the other, I can't actually tell. They'd be explorable on my gaming computer, but I suspect on my work computer the areas not illuminated by crystals would be solid black.
Damn, because they're going to get darker depending on where you go. It's actually an integral part of the game where she has a stress meter and certain things cause it to go up... or down, depending. Darkness... well, it can be your friend or enemy. Maybe I'll put up a full-dark screen to see if it works or not. :I

That would be the darkest it gets, where all you can see is a light around you.

Did she harvest your tears?

I like the screenshot.

@Liberty
I like it! The darkness creates a dark, scary, where will I end up if I go that direction kind of feel. I think it's good.
Working on a Debug room to test my various monsters and other Lighting aspects, or should i say debug plaza?
(The TV is just reminders for myself of what to do)

Liberty, confirmed I can actually see enough of those screenshots to navigate even on my ridiculously dark work monitor, so they should be fine.
Yay~ ^.^
Thanks for letting me know. Now I don't have to worry about the darkness~

Snow area is much more of a WIP. It's a bit dull, even with a cave network on the inside.

EDIT: DAMNIT DECKILLER WHY DID YOU POST SOMETHING AMAZING RIGHT BEFORE MY SHIT

EDIT2: uh the fire demons are just placeholder events for chests, btw. haha.

Yes, all the while instructing me in the art of doing so.
@Deckiller: I like the overall map but the sharp forest top tiles contrast way too much with the single trees which curve a lot and look smooth. It looks like you are mixing a DQ 3 style with something more modern. I'd recommend editing the forest top tiles, especially the top three tiles so they are more curved rather than square blocks...it'd look so much more natural. Same with the shadows at the bottom of the tree trunks...the style just flows awkwardly...jaggy to smooth to jaggy. It works fine for man made structures like homes...but in nature nothing is ever a straight line all the way through (Trees, tree trunks, cliffs, and their respective shadows)

@Aqua: The RTP doesn't compliment the FF6 style of character sprites well, I'd try going for consistency with your graphics but I really love that floor tile you are using..the room feels so cheerful and fun to explore.

Yeah that's my goal, to make a fun debug room or something to explore after the game is beaten. Thank's lotus, will do!
Early version of my desert tiles. Took me 3 hours to get that far.

That desert looks absolutely ~GORGEOUS~
