WHAT ARE YOU THINKING ABOUT? (GAME DEVELOPMENT EDITION)

LockeZ
I'd really like to get rid of LockeZ. His play style is way too unpredictable. He's always like this too. If he ran a country, he'd just kill and imprison people at random until crime stopped.

No. It's a tentacle with a beret.
Working on a post-apocalyptic RPG like Wild Arms feel to it. Having to deal with
some stupid intro event that didn't make me continue. It's got a nice world map
music track.

I love/hate it when you're designing something and your brain is going OH THIS! AND THIS! ADD THIS TOO! OH MY GOD AND THIS!

That's how I am with mapping sometimes. I eventually have to tell myself to just quit working on a map, because otherwise I spend hours adding detail/remaking it over and over again. A single map.
reddit is enemy to productivity and productivity alone. ;_;
also i wish i understood for loops and how to implement them into event code, because copypaste gets tedious NEVERMIND PSY_WOMBATS GAVE AWESOME CODE =D

A thread about ideas? Nice.
The son of a farmer enlists, alongside his best friend, to become a knight under a just king. On their first mission (and field exam), they encounter the forces of a believed-to-be-exiled warrior who's returned for revenge.
The second game focuses on a young woman on another continent with an ancient (and closely guard) heritage. Unaware of the blood running through her, she is taken by a band of protectors who defend her from a power-hungry wizard.
The third game ties their destinies together as the groups of both games come face-to-face and encounter the true evil behind their troubles. Characters live, characters die, and destinies are embraced.
The title, currently, is "King's Chronicles".

I was thinking, after I finished Pokemon Trinity, that I would make Pokemon Trinity 2 in that sandboxy do-whatever Skyrim style. I just really like that and I realized that no games, or at least none that I've seen completed, have tried this.'
I'm also thinking of a game where you can play as one of two characters, it would be one to two hours long, and there is a limited variety of weapons in the game. Each of which would be upgradeable, and each type would have it's ups and downs to give the user their own style to work with. All about wretched Kings, betrayal, and one brother chasing another brother to find out what the hell is going on.
That idea was going to be mixed with a sort of open game where you, if you upgrade your skills correctly, you can avoid every single fight throughout the entire game.
Every. Single. Fight.
I lol'd at the idea, but then I was like: "Hmm... that isn't half bad. Gives it some replayability, I suppose."

I'm currently thinking up plot for my next game (My ADD will not abide me working on one thing for too long).
It is going to be called "BATTLERS", and the main character will be part of a warrior class that are, more-or-less, gladiators for hire who participate in sponsored battles for coin and fame. No big epic world-ending danger that you have to stop, your goal is to be the very best, like no one ever was.
Still in the works, but thems the basics.

Please do this. We need more sandbox games right now. RPG Maker games are so linear nowadays... where's the replayability?
Still working on my exploration game. There is no random encounters, no NPCs, and no game mechanics except for exploring a rich and vibrant world full of mystery and suspense. The player character is a chicken, who attempts to gobble up as many seeds scattered around the world as possible. As the chicken explores, however, a grand mystery is revealed, as the player puts the pieces together in his/her mind about what happened to the world. So it will appeal to those players who enjoy exploring, collecting items, and eerie atmospheres, as well as a good mystery.
author=thatbennyguyI'd play it.

Trying to incorporate dungeon crawling and action gameplay into a traditional RPG similar to Alundra. Instead of fighting enemies on the field, touch base encounters will be littered throughout the dungeons and field skills will be used to ward, paralyze, and cripple enemies. I want to put an emphasis on item management as well as have different enemies depending on the time of the day. Lastly the enemies will have an increased difficulty meaning that you have to plan your battle accordingly especially because you want to progress within the dungeon. Anyways tell me what you think about this as well as additional ideas.
Interesting idea, bennyguy. I like the sound of it.
Currently humming and hawing about killing a certain character off and whether or not people would react well or not to it. Being that the game is a sequel to an already established RPG and the characters are well-loved by the fans, I'm a bit leery about it, but it would fit the story well. Also, the way I'd kill that character off would be kinda brutal, and considering they're something of an... innocent... well.
Still the idea itself won't leave me alone and it'd help round off a certain plot that was left untouched in the original game. >.<;

The beauty of it being a fangame means it's not at all canon, so people shouldn't go into it expecting it to be 100% accurate or even what they want to see. If you feel it's well justified to do what it is you want to do and you're sure it fits in well in a realistic interpretation of the original story, I say to hell with it and just go for it. It'd be nice to see people making fangames where brave (but still realistic) steps are taken and things in the storyline actually - you know - change. Like a story, and like real, breathing characters.
There are so many games I've played/shows I've watched that have ended with certain cliffhangers or bits of information missing and it's driven me totally crazy. I'd hound the internet for weeks looking for comics/pictures/videos that tied off ends, even if it wasn't canon. If I was someone who's played the original game and you've offered some reprieve or given them the ending they were looking for, I'd certainly thank you a million times over. And if I disliked what you did to the characters, I'd reassure myself with the fact it's not the original story and move on to the next fangame.
With that said, there's nothing to stop you from making two separate fangames if you really couldn't decide. One where the person dies and events unfold as you'd like, and another where they live and the game takes an entirely different route.

We need more sandbox games right now. RPG Maker games are so linear nowadays... where's the replayability?
its hard enough to get people to play through ONCE
i been thinking a about what TF (transformation) ideas i will use in my games.
