DIGITAL CHAIN is a short, mystery visual novel about 3 kids who explore a haunted school.

The game focuses on a supposed 'Haunted School' and an Incident that occurred there in the past. You play as young writer and student, alongside Shuhei, a friend who is obsessed with the supernatural and Hiromi, a girl that goes to your school. After weeks of planning with Shuhei, today is the day to explore the Haunted School. Shuhei claims to have discovered a Ritual to summon the souls of the dead and speak with them through their cellphones, called the Digital Chain.

By using Key Words that you learn through dialogue, you move the story along at your own pace. These Key Words can be Names, Locations, and other sorts of things that you gather through Dialogue. Presenting a Key Word to the group represents starting your own coversation with that Key Word as the subject. One Key Word can lead to the next, creating a chain of messages that push the story along.

The game is a bit experimental. Any feedback on things like the primary gameplay loop or the writing would be very helpful going forward.

Gameplay/Features:

Player driven story. Uses "Key Words" to progress the game's Plot.
2 Endings
Around 1 hour playtime

For anyone like me who ended up getting stuck and wants to know the items for the true ending:

It's paintbrush -> energy drink -> glasses

I said yes to believing in ghosts, but no idea if that makes a difference
