Announcement

It is done.

Today, I am happy to announce that Transcendence Legacy is finished and can now be downloaded. Though it is just a hobby project, still, I'm happy to be able to actually finish my first rpg maker project that I started two years ago.

Thank you to everyone who have supported. Thank you to all the testers who helped me in playtesting the game. Thank you to all of you who have given me lots of feedbacks, it helps a lot.

That is all.
Enjoy the game.

Progress Report

Devlog: September

  • Main story: 100%

  • Side Stories & Extra Cutscenes: 97%

  • Art & Graphics: 90%

Yep, it's almost done.
Just need to add a proper intro and an ending and it's done.
I've finished making all the field maps, dungeon maps and town maps.

I've also finished making optional areas (including optional bosses, equipments, characters and items).

There are 15 playable characters in this game, some will join your party as the story goes, and some others will require you to recruite them after finishing certain quests.

As for estimated playtime, it took me 2 hours to get to the last chapter. So the estimated playtime will be about about 2 - 2,5 hours. I was really surprised for how short it is!

That said, I'm happy to finally be able to finish the project that I started 2 years ago.

Pre-release testing session will start next month, hopefully.

Also a new trailer will be coming out soon.
Stay tuned.

That's it for now.
See you all and have a nice day.

Progress Report

Devlog: August

Hey everyone, so I decided to make monthly devlogs from now on.

  • Main Story: 100%

  • Side Stories & Extra Cutscenes: 25%

  • Art & Graphics: 65%

The Main story is done. The game is now playable from start to finish (without any side quests & extra cutscenes).

All maps for the main story are done, except for the world map.
The current world map looks like this:

I'm planning to make a bigger world map for more optional areas.
Maybe an optional dungeon with a boss that drops a legendary equipment? Or a town with new characters to recruit? Who knows.

Speaking of Characters, there are currently 5 characters that will join your party as the story goes (Aside from the protagonist himself). And 4 recruitable characters (There will be more, though, so don't worry).

I'm also working on Talk Events, where characters would talk and interact with each other. Crack jokes, small talks, and things like that.

And lastly, this game won't have a Demo.
It will be fully released in November, hopefully.

I guess that's all for now.
See you all and have a good day.

Miscellaneous

Here at last.

Transcendence Legacy was my first RPG Maker project, aside from small games I've made for myself back when I was still using RPG Maker 2003. This project has been going for 2 years. I started this in June 2016, and I plan to release this november, now that it's 80% done.

Many changes have been made during the 2 years of development. I switched engines from VXA to MV (and of course having to remake the game again from the beginning) and then back to VXA again. Redesigning maps, characters, items, skills, and rebalancing battles, etc.

Here's a comparison between the 2016 and the 2018 Transcendence Legacy.

I think it should be obvious, but the first image is the 2016 and the second one is the 2018 version of the game.

At first I just want to make a little game for me and my friends to enjoy, and I wasn't planning to show this game to public. But this project got more serious over time, and eventually I finally decided that I will release it to public and let people enjoy it as well.

That's all for my first blog. This is my first time submitting a game to RMN, too. So you can say I'm still new to all of this, so don't expect too much from me. Also I plan to release a trailer this weekend (I know it's just a small game, but still, making trailer is pretty fun).

See you all and have a good day.
