Chapter 2 Progress - A peaceful fairy meadow

Game was finally approved on RMN a few days ago, but I haven't written a blog yet! Silly me.

I am making good progress on Evie. I have a fulltime job, 8:30am to 5:30am every day, but afterward I am so excited to do whatever I can to bring this game to fruition. Slow and steady!

Normally in my games, after the 1st boss, I go back and look to see what to fix or rebalance, and most of the time, my games are just so past fixing that I simply give up. For Evie, I adjusted and re-adjusted and adjusted again the actor stats, enemy stats, gear stats, experience gain... all that fun stuff... until it's finally the way I like it. I can actually move on to Chapter 2!

I've added all database items, and the first quest that brings the gang down to the new battle area, now called the Silk Fields, but what I keep calling the Fairy Meadows, lol! Next on my agenda was to map the field. I decided to record my mapping and bring it over to YouTube:

It's not the prettiest map I've ever made, but I had to do it in the editor so the size wouldn't lag too much as a parallax. And I'll be the first to tell you that I am not at all good with the FSM tiles. I definitely need some practice. So who knows, that whole map might up end getting totally reworked by the end of the game.

Hope you enjoy!

Thank you for your support!

You're making pretty good progress. I'll probably check this out once there's a download up.

Thanks!! There is a demo link up if you are interested! RMN isn't showing the big "downloads" button at the top of the page, but there's still the downloads link :)

Hoping to keep up this momentum!
Oh cool. I'll make sure to play it tonight, thanks.
"8:30am to 5:30am"

I think you mean "5:30Pm"?

I've got too much on my plate to play, but this sounds cool! And nice alliterative title!

Betting that Evie is Runesmith pushed into the future, but i dunno.

Oof you got me! I think you can tell how exhausted I am.

Or - who knows - maybe I'm a timetraveler like Evie :P

Thanks for your interest in the project!
