Fear & Hunger 2: Termina is OUT!

I've been neglecting rpgmaker.net way too much in the past few years. It shows, the last update was in 2020. It took me some time to get this game page up to date too, but Fear & Hunger 2: Termina is finally out! (technically it has been out for a couple of weeks but that's besides the point)

Took me 3+ years of working on it pretty much full time. A lot longer than I first anticipated, but I'm happy with the results. The game is still in a bit shaky and janky condition, but so far the reception has been really positive and I think it's a good foundation to build upon. Bug fixes and content updates will follow in the coming year.

If anyone's interested in trying out the game, here's a small giveaway of Steam keys. Please don't use more than one so others can grab their copy too, thanks!

Progress Report

The Demo Version 2.4 update / May 2020

I haven't made separate posts on versions 2.1, 2.2 and 2.3 because they've basically been bug fixes for the most part. Version 2.4 is no different in that sense. There were some nasty bugs in v2.3 if you used an older save file that caused the screen to go black in certain instances. It should be fine now. V2.4 also addresses some balance issues and tweaks the overall difficulty a bit towards more fair.

The biggest actual addition is more streamlined Soul Stone/Hexen system. I felt it was too much of a hurdle to first kill an enemy > saw off its head > sacrifce it at a ritual circle for a soul stone > go back to killed enemy > use soul stone > use it in hexen.

Now instead you get Soul stone shards from each sacrifice and putting together 3 shards equals a stone that can immediately be used in hexen. No more running back and forth between the ritual circle and a downed enemy. This also hopefully helps with the overabundance of soul stones in the previous versions.

Another worthwhile mention is that Needles has been nerfed a little. His stunlock combo was really annoying previously but it's different now.

If you still haven't tried out the demo, it's a great point to jump in!

The Demo Version 2.0 is Out! / May 2020

The latest demo version is out! Apart from minor fixes and tweaks, I'd like to think that this will be the last demo. The next step is the full version. I'm aiming for the end of the year 2020. But let's see just how it goes... I'm not good with these dates and deadlines.

I'd estimate that the new demo is about double the size of the last one with 2 new playable characters/classes: The doctor and The mechanic/engineer.

Let me know what you think of the game!

A small progress update / February 2020

Hey!
Thanks for all the great feedback from the first demo of Termina!
I got a lot of valuable info and some changes are made accordingly.
The next demo version will (hopefully) drop later in Q1 of 2020.
The next version will add few new characters to choose from as well as a lot of area expansions among other stuff.

If you haven't tried the first demo yet, I suggest you go check it out right now!

Here're few new screenshots to show what to expect from the update:

The teaser demo of F&H: Termina is out!
Check out the downloads - section of this page!

There are a couple of areas you'll get to try out as well as 2 different classes: Ex-Soldier and Occultist. Each of them play very differently. If you explore the demo fully, I'd say there's about an hour of gameplay there. That's of course once you know where to go and what to do.

I'd love to hear some feedback/criticism!
