If you thought Master of the Wind was too linear, this is the game for you.

15 years after the events of that game, a gentle young man named Bradley Lamorak begins his first year at the prestigious Gallian Academy. Meanwhile, a young woman named Peri leaves the remote Nuntak Isle to seek the truth about her mysterious family history at Gallia's branch of the Midnight Guild. The two meet and become friends just as tensions are escalating between the guild's necromancers and the city authorities. Will the city plunge into conflict once again? Can Bradley and Peri master the magical arts quickly enough to make a difference? Are they ready for the ugly truths about Solest's history?

Legacy is a (semi) open world game that combines day-to-day life as a student of the Academy (much like the Sacred River Monastery portion of MotW) with free-roaming exploration of the continent of Euthenia. Go to class, practice your magic and weapons, recruit your classmates and get out into the world!

Some features!
  • Bradley's elemental magic and weapon of choice are selected by the player! In MotW, the elemental affinities of the characters played a significant role in the story and thus were predetermined. Not so this time, at least with Bradley. Peri is a dark mage but players will have some control over her studies as well.

  • Six schools of magic - Fire, Water, Lightning, Ice, Earth or Wind!

  • Six potential weapons to fight with - Sword, Spear, Bow/Gun, Mace, Axe or Brawler style!

  • Choose which classmates to adventure with each day! Build friendships that will lead to unique scenes and quests!

  • Combine your new spells with those of your classmates for strong combo attacks!

  • Keep track of quests, lore, people, places and other information with Bradley's extensive journal. Kid's a real bookworm.

  • A simple time passage system that determines how far you can wander each day. Pay for carriage rides to get more out of your time or save some money and take a walk. Explore the enormous city of Gallia and numerous regions of the wilderness!

  • No random encounters! Monsters appear on the map and most of them regenerate each day!

  • Lots of conditional branches. Like...LOTS of them!

Keep an eye on the blog for more detailed information. Welcome back to Solest!

Those Wacky Necromancers

The Day 15 build has a lot of development for the Midnight Guild characters Peri interacts with each evening. I've profiled Bradley's classmates and the Gallian officials on here before, so it's about time they got their turn.

Mortimer: The leader of the Gallia branch of the guild. He is generally a trustworthy fellow who sincerely believes in the guild's obligation to provide some fellowship for Dark Mages. The burden of leadership begins to grow heavier as the guild faces the crisis brought on by the skeleton attacks, and Peri's skill at getting into trouble is doing him no favors. He's also one of the few other characters to have met the game's antagonist (I never know how much I should say about him, but if you finished the last demo you know who I'm referring to).

Zira: The bond between master and apprentice is one of the guild's most treasured traditions, but Peri's apprenticeship got off to a rocky start thanks to Zira's social awkwardness. She is the archivist for the Gallian branch and her detailed knowledge of Dark Magic history has helped point Peri in the right direction several times in her investigation of what's going on in the city. Now that some time has passed, Peri has come to appreciate her mentor's loyalty and deep knowledge, but Zira still has a strained relationship with many others in the guild.

Alice: A Dark Mage originally from Rutul who transferred to Gallia a few years earlier and is Peri's roommate in the guild's underground quarters. She finds Peri's frank demeanor amusing and the two became fast friends. In addition to being an experienced mage, Alice also has an exceptional mind for numbers and mathematics.

Kaye: Mortimer's second in command and the one most likely to become branch leader whenever he retires. Kaye is popular with the guild and her family has been involved for generations. She's also one of the few members with genuine connections in the city - a vacant building she owns in Central Gallia is used by the guild to enter and leave that area of the city without detection.

Mona: The Head Mage of the entire Midnight Guild, a position outranked only by the Grandmaster and Deputy Grandmaster. She makes the trip to Gallia to discover and halt whatever has brought about the current crisis. She is intimidating and takes absolutely no shit, making her invaluable when the guild needs an advocate in their dealings with the city government. Although Peri is a newcomer and undisciplined, Mona sees potential in her and takes an unexpected shine to our heroine.

So there are plenty of folks to get to know as Peri grows more familiar with her new surroundings, but she also has to face the possibility that one or more of them, or maybe someone else she hasn't met yet, is in league with the forces threatening the fragile status quo. One of these folks will also be a party member! Any guesses who? You'll have to play the new build when it's ready to find out. Peace bros!

bless rpgmaker cola for that podcast!. Motw is one of those games that make me come back and check rmn if there is something new on the horizon for solest.

suscribed!

Awwwwwwww <3 thank you. Also.. hyped for "Legacy"! (hehehe)
will there be different status based on class like fire burned lightning stun and when do you think this game will be completed
Yes, each element does have a status effect associated with it although not every spell will trigger it.

As for completion, I'm hoping to have a demo out by mid-July. The entire game? God only knows.
will there be a difficulty mode and will there be legendary weapons like Excalibur(Sword) it doesnt have to be called that
Legendary weapons, yes. Multiple difficulties, no.
cool the download is it the full story game playable
Ronove
More like Misao Stealing Prince

fgh25, it's not the full story! It's a demo, so it's only the first few days of the game.
will there be different magic classes like summoning that the main character can do or is that only for the summoner
Oh hey new thing

I might be in the minority about this, but I generally vastly prefer linear-ness over more branching, mostly due to the concept of how much content/writing the creators put into the game that you don't get to see in one playthrough

But i'm still excited for this, i guess

Not summoning, but your study of elemental magic eventually allows for one of two specializations, which allow for a more unique approach to combat. The base spells for all the different schools of magic are fairly similar, but the specializations is where they start to diverge.
can you put in other skills not combat but like alchemy and blacksmith where u can make your own weapons and potions with the right recipe
minor bug: the exit from south gallia to azure bay doesn't work for me (on day 4, picked tanya.) I can still get to azure bay from west gallia, and I can go from azure bay back to south gallia, but then again can't go back and have to walk around to west gallia.

(p.s. is this the right space for bug reports? is there a better way to report them?)
It's okay to post bug reports here if they come up.

I looked at this one and I saw that those teleports are set to "action button" on Day 4 rather than the usual "player touch." In other words, you'll have to press enter on the edge of the South Gallia map for it to work. It will be fixed in the next release, thanks for telling me!
