Titled 風の色、鮮やかに in Japanese, Concerto is an RPG Maker 2000 game created by Shou (Cogwheel), the same creator behind the RM2000 game Nocturne and its remake, Nocturne: Rebirth. Concerto takes place several years after the events of Nocturne, and follows the story of Ricks Stanford, the Budding Healer, and Schneidt Hannibal, the Apprentice Smith. Two boys from the town of Ries who aim to become adventurers. Following the guidance of their trusted informant, Sharon, the two explore an old ruin inside the woods near town and come across a mysterious jewel. They would then encounter a Mage named Millia Sylvestry, who seemed in desperate need of it. Learning that the item in question is called a Mana Sphere, this encounter would mark the beginning of the three’s journey to collect the rest of the Mana Spheres scattered throughout the region as they chase down a malignant being of destruction… a Devil.
Gameplay-wise, Concerto plays like most conventional turn-based RPGs. It does have a few unique features of its own however, as described below:
-The ability to take two weapons into battle, and switch between them as needed*. You will want to make use of this, as there are several different weapon types, each with their own characteristics. In addition, some weapons are more effective against certain types of enemies. For example, spears can ignore half of an enemy’s defense, making them ideal for fighting armored foes, while Bows are very effective against flying enemies. Gear yourself up with the best weapon suited for your foes, or just based off your own preference.
-In addition to the above, the game also features a simple, yet challenging smithing mini-game to forge your own weapons with. The material used and how fast you can finish determines the quality of the weapon. Do well enough and you can create a weapon that outclasses those found in chests or shops!
*Note, this also has the unfortunate effect of making your stats in the equipment menu a little misleading, as they’re taking into account the stats from BOTH equipped weapons, whereas only the top one matters
(closing notes: this is my first translation project of any kind. I do not guarantee 100% accuracy to the original meaning or text, but I do hope at least that I was able to transmit the game’s story well enough. As the two games have some relation, I also made an effort to keep terms consistent with Eplipswich’s translation of Nocturne: Rebirth, though I’m sure there are some I may have missed)

-Fixed an oversight with the smithing mini-game in the Burgundy Smithy which caused Schneidt's dialogue when retrying to skip over.
A Warning: Due to a bug the game will hardlock if you head to the Paserat tunnels, pick up a Magical Seed, and interact with the lava at the northernmost point BEFORE finishing the Juray Mountains (and obtaining the Red Manuscript from it)
