This is a complete rpg adaptation of the masterpiece written by JRR Tolkien and directed by Peter Jackson. Primarily based on the movies in terms of script, music, and visuals, but with additional material from the books, as well as original content. Join Frodo, Gandalf, Aragorn, and many more in their quest to destroy the One Ring in the fires of Mount Doom and end the threat of the Dark Lord Sauron once and for all. Delve deep into the Mines of Moria, defend Helm’s Deep from Saruman’s Uruk-hai army, and explore the toxic wasteland of Mordor.

Form multiple parties of up to 4 with 15+ playable characters travelling across Middle Earth by land, sea, and horseback. Switch between parties to solve puzzles and advance the story. Includes numerous mini-Games and action battle systems, easily 30+ hours of content.

Custom features include:

Two types of party selection screens:
-Choose 4 of the 9 Fellowship
-Switch between multiple parties

Combo skills for Merry and Pippin, including theft.

Bribery skill to pay your way out of fights.

Disguise for small characters wearing enemy armor.

Action battle systems include basic sword, bow, axe, upgraded sword, staff/lightning bolts, and the simplest and most powerful, trample.

Mini games include digging for treasure, whack-an-orc, horse racing, target shooting, blackjack&craps, pac-man, simon, earl-bearling, and more.

Now updated with extensive prompts to show where you need to go. Back in the day I assumed people would know what had to happen next from watching the movies, but maybe not everyone remembers every scene of all three extended editions at this point, lol.

To play open the LOTRc folder, scroll down to RPG_RT.exe and run it.

This update fixes a few fatal errors from the last one, namely the endless loop in the end cutscene, freezes on a Moria elevator, in Ithilien, and the Tower of Cirith Ungol, and a crash when you make camp outside the Druadan forest. This version is much easier than the previous one, with extra skills, and multiple ways to avoid dbs battles. There are flashing prompts (usually yellow or green, or red exclamation boxes) indicating where to go/who to talk to next. Not prompted in this way is any optional content, which is also more avoidable (particularly the bulk of Moria). Also unprompted is when you need to switch parties, though you'll generally reach a sticking point when you do. Not always though, so as to allow access to the optional bits. In particular the optional sidequests of Haldir in the Mirrormere, Saruman of Many Colors in Orthanc, and Pirates of the Caribbean in Umbar/the entire south of the world map.
Seem to have made it through without a hitch over the last few days, but not everything possible, and there was some minor polishing going on during that time so hopefully some new error doesn't crop up. Definitely ran through in less than the advertised 30+ hours with the ability to bribe and escape fights.
If you find any more problems (even random enemies that can't be escaped) please let me know, thanks!
