!CONTENT WARNING!
GiggleForce features a lot of crude humor, adult subject matter, and material that may be offensive to some. There is no shame whatsoever in being uncomfortable with this sort of content, although I would advise against playing GiggleForce if this sounds unpleasant to you.
GiggleForce is a parodic commentary on the "quirky Earthbound-inspired RPG" subgenre: playing off the conventions of the subgenre to deliver an experience that aims to be both funny and purposeful. The visual similarities are definitely intentional!
Players assume the roles of four people unwittingly tasked with preventing the birth of the antichrist and the subsequent "remix" of the universe:
Guy Parker- equipped with an assortment of spoons of varying combat-effectiveness and strange powers known as kinesis, Guy is otherwise a painfully dull, boring-looking man. Your journey begins when Guy is made redundant from his job at Quirk Co: a struggling plug and play company. Now jobless and in immense medical debt, Guy trudges through his off-colour journey in search of a way to get back to work.
Dani Shale- an intensely materialistic woman, Dani is a boxing-obsessed reformed stripper dogmatized by a strange cult known as "Gameology". Dani possesses the same strange kinesis powers as Guy, and holds immense respect for fame and physical strength.
Jickie Choon- years of movie stunt work has led Jickie Choon to retire early. Although he has a strong sense of justice, Jickie's not the greatest when it comes to confrontation, but is able to perform wicked stunts to damage his opponents.
Jeffrey Pilkington- Jeffrey was once a notorious serial killer: driven mad after being desensitized to blood and violence by crude internet websites and violent video games. Official records state he died trying to escape a maximum security prison, though rumor has it this was an elaborate cover-up.
...But if you don't like the names, you can always change them if you like!
Throughout your journey, you'll cross paths with video game-obsessed cultists, joking ostriches, ghetto aliens, drug cartels, exotic beasts, and other obtuse off-colour characters.
At the core of the game, however, is a story that about the perils of blind imitation and fandom culture.
Features:
> Over 6 hours of RPG gameplay
> Original artwork
> An almost entirely original musical score
> Shitloads of movie parodies
> Some outlandish and hopefully funny scenarios
> Rewritable character names
