FIRST: If you've been anticipating this game, I'm dreadfully sorry for the massive delay between when I said I would have it up and now! Life loves to throw me tons of hurdles, and until now this had taken more of a backseat to them hurdles.

Our main heroes, a couple in their mid-20s, are enjoying just another day when news breaks that a town not so far away has been all but wiped from the map. Being fairly patriotic to their home land, they join the regional military in hopes of overcoming the enemy. Little do they know, however, that they're in for an adventure that will take them places they've only barely dreamed of..

Pretty basic feature list coming from the top of my head, so this might not include everything, but here's some random tidbits:

+ touch-based battle encounters (aside from overworld)
+ weapon leniency (basically any character has at least three possible weapons at their disposal)
+ learning a magic spell requires magic gemstones and proper leveling
+ modifiable scenery (specifically, jars, crates, and barrels)
+ enemy health bars in battle
+ custom experience modifiers (dependent on number of live characters in party)
+ optional side-quests

Hopefully I've done well enough as far as towns go - they're not typically my strongest suit, and I have a lot more of them than I did in Staff of Cyrenia.

Feedback is always appreciated as long as it's not straight-up bashing (i.e. constructive criticism is welcome).

The Finishing Touches - January 24, 2010

I am, as of last night, 100% through everything in this game! Just replaying through to spot & kill any possible glitches or whatnot.

I've gone through & decided to make the game slightly less linear in ways - you can go pretty much anywhere at any time once you're free to roam the world, but the main storyline events still will trigger in the proper order. So.. be gutsy! Explore places before you're supposed to. Grab treasures early! None of it should bug up.. well until you get yourself into a battle you can't win or escape. ^_^

But yeah. Pretty much just playtesting now. Full game up within a few days.

Glad to hear the fix worked! To get through the volcanic pass, you have to go through the exit on the western portion of the volcano - the exit is blocked though and traversing around the rim of the volcano, you'll eventually find a switch that gets rid of this obstruction. It's on the same map that the entrance is.
What does the switch look like? I have been looking for it forever. By the way, I am loving the game thus far.
It's a red floor switch - when you see it, you'll be at a dead end, with lavafalls to the right and one of those black stalagmites by the wall to the left - from where you start the volcano, the best way to describe it is basically hugging the wall to the character's left the entire way. In the offshoot to the north of the central volcanic area, you have to jump the stones to cross the lava, but after this part you're pretty close.

It's in the same room that you start the volcano, to be precise. You basically just have to circumnavigate the entire volcano to get to it - backtracking to the western section of the volcano will yield the exit and put you very close to the Deserted Castle.

Glad you're loving the game! I had a lot of fun making it.
Thanks Goldenguy, the only reason I didn't see the switch was because I didn't know you can jump on rocks (lol)! Now I am stuck again at the castle, I can't open the lower level 2 doors or the chests!! I am totally confuse on that part there doesn't seem to be any clues about going to next step.
On that lower level, there are three readily accessible staircases leading up to the first floor - you can come down from either the left or right one - if you hit the center one, it'll take you upstairs to an isolated room with the key needed to open those doors!
hm, with that key I was only able to open the prison walls not the two lower level doors. And then when I was opening the chests I found another key that open the door closed when you enter the castle. And that led me to another floor with nothing there but some vague description. So I can't open the bottom two doors still or get the numeric code for the chests. I hope I clarified my problem.
Oh right, the second floor is where you're at now! There are enough keys in that place that I forgot just where you meant. With the vague description, it says "The pillars of light shall guide the chosen one to the treasures."

You'll notice in that very room, there are four round walls inside the room, each with torches. The digits to the treasure chest line up with the number of torches lit on each pillar. The one on the left side of the second floor will give you another key, and the one on the right side will give you a different treasure.

Pillars should be read just like normal English, being top left - top right - bottom left - bottom right.
I really hate to do puzzles!!! Is there anyway to do the orbs color puzzle in the last castle?
Ahh yes, the 4x4 Rubik's Cube.. the goal in this one is vertical lines in the order of red, blue, green, purple, from left to right. Unfortunately, I don't have any specific advice since the default setting of the colored orbs is randomly determined upon entering that floor, and there are probably at least tens of combinations and therefore probably thousands of different possible ways to push the orbs to line them up. Just try your best to group reds to the left of blues, greens to the left of purple, and to get them lined up that way from left to right.

NOTE: I posted a step-by-step example puzzle in the pages section - I'm not sure how helpful it might be, but I'm hoping anyone stuck at that part can maybe pick apart a bit of strategy from the example!

NOTE 2: If you haven't, download today's game patch - otherwise, the final boss will only have 500HP (I must have left it at that when I was testing the endings before - another reason to not work on a game and then "finish" it 6 months later).
I am still trying to solve the puzzle, so where did you post the step-by-step example?
If you go to The Damulan Legacy main page, there should be a link for it near Downloads, in the sort of tab thingy.

On a side note, I almost think the views on this game are glitched - I seem to be picking up more views daily than I have on Triax or The Staff of Cyrenia combined, despite the downloads being in the 200s.
Hey this game is nice but I stuck in the mines next to the underground village i have both halves of the key but they cannot be inserted in that round lock and nobody in the village fixes the key how i should procced i checked everything and i ended up with a left and a right half
I have a game patch up now - grab that, place it into your game folder (it should overwrite the encrypted data file), then just go into the left or right mine area where you got either key half in the first place (going on either of those maps should combine the two to make the full key). My treasures in there were bugged in the original release, but from what I can ascertain, this patch fixes things up.
It worked thanks man appreciate it :)
